Need help with diagnosing problem with DVD player...?
The DVD worked last night (so it is connected properly - is connected through a VCR in the front), but when I tried to turn it on this morning it gets power but screen remained blue. I was able to connect it to the VCR in the back and I have sound, and there is a picture, but it is blue and the picture rolls.
Any idea on what the problem is and/or how to fix it?

Most pre-recorded DVDs use copy protection that prevents them from being re-recorded to tape on all but the oldest VHS machines. The problems you're describing sound like that's what's happening.
Unfortunately, you'll have to plug the DVD directly into the TV to see a good picture. Or, you can get a video switch that lets you select which input goes to the TV (link below).
