Given there are about 30 different Christian Denominations, which one is teaching the true message?

the denominations and religion of it may be confusing, but i stick to the idea that Christianity is a relationship to God, take it as you will, find Him and find a humble life.

What makes a Church "Christian" is certain essentials. For the most part, these essentials are well summed up in the Nicene Creed.

All denominations which agree on the essentials are Christian churches. Where they disagree are on the non-essentials. It is possisble to be a True Christian in any Church which presents the essentials; the Gospel. It doesn't matter which Church you're in if you have a True Faith in God through Christ. There are True Christians in every denomination and there are many who are phonies in every denomination.

If you're looking for a Church, find one where you are able to learn and grow in the Gospel. The Protestant Churches are very good in teaching the Word of God, and very good for learning. The Catholic and Orthodox Churches tend to focus on an approach of tradition and ritual to help a Christian discipline himself into a Christian lifestyle. So, depending on where you are, there will be a Church that can help you (and you can help them by serving there).

Ultimately, and ANY Christian of any denomination will tell you this, it's all about your own heart and faith, and all the learning and rituals and discipline in the world are just a front if you don't have the Faith and Heart for Jesus.

Belonging to a denomination has nothing to do with getting into heaven. Relationship with Jesus does. Just because you sit in a garage doesn't mean you are a car. Just because you belong to a denomination doesn't mean you are a Christian and it does not secure a place in heaven for you. Only Jesus can do that. Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9.

Before you think about getting to heaven, you should make sure that heaven is a place you want to be?Its logical to assume that you might like it but you must know that people who go there will have major responsibilities.

To begin with the ones who qualify to go will have to suffer the same type things and death that Jesus suffered.

The responsibilities that will placed upon you are weighty and serious, for example you will have kingly and priestly decisions to make, because you will be a ruling part of God's Heavenly Government. See (Revelation 20:6) . . .Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.

(Revelation 5:10) . . .and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.. . .

So if you understand this then know that judging humans on earth will require a lot of wisdom on your part?

So that you understand that the earth is the primary place that humans will reside, and that the few who go to heaven will rule the earth from heaven then you can understand why Jesus said that the meek would inherit the earth? Matthew 5:5 and his father backs this thought up at Psalms 37:9-11,29.

When you read these scriptures with thought then you can see that those who go to heaven will have to cut off the wicked and decide who will stay and reside on earth.

To decide which religion is right requires that you understand God's word, and make sure that you have his teachings and not Doctrines of men? 2 Timothy 3:16,17

I think the better question to ask is: of the 30-some Christian denominations, which message is teaching the true Jesus...?

Actually, there are over 5,200 different faiths and denominations around the world. All of them basically have the Bible as their foundation, and every single one of them, with equal passion thinks their interpretation is the correct one. So long as biblical interpretation is left up to humans, there is no way to settle the argument about who's right, or who's wrong because the Bible is vague, and it's full of time-line errors, contradictions, and mathmatical errors. My opinion, and from my personal experience, get the Bible out of your life because this book was written by mortal, fallible men who were very superstitious, simple-minded, and had very active imaginations. At best, the Bible is only 40% true, and it's 90% negative in the way it portrays God. No one really knows for sure if there is an afterlife, but I don't live my life worrying about what happens to me after death. Don't live your life in fear at the hands of religious zealots and fanatics who can only support their theories from a book of hearsay.

Been there and done it all mate.

The only truth is Gods truth of the water and the Spirit (John 3:5), the core teaching of the gospel.

You have to only check every churches fundamental statement of faith, for this is the root of the tree.

If it does not believe in the water and the Spirit (or God's righteousness, and only believes in one part, namely the Cross, it is NOT God's church...you had better not go there.

The only way into heaven is to believe in the full and complete atonement...read John 3:5!!! for this is God's righteousness, and this righteousness will make you righteous and only then will you be able to go to heaven. No sinners will ever be allowed into heaven (Matt 7:22).

You will no doubt receive many answers, but all I am saying...choose well!!!! if you choose wrong then you will have to accept the consequences.

30? More like 30,000 mostly Bible Alone Protestant.

Check out the major positions and see if the particular church is ancient,apostolic,morally and theolgically in accord with the Early and Historic Church,universal and not just in some small corner or ethnic or national group.

Belonging even to the true Church will not get one to heaven

but living by grace through faith which works through love will.

Hunt for the authentic and original Church with its One

(United) Holy(Saint producing) Catholic(Universal and consistent theologically) and Apostolic (founded by Christ and going back to the Apostles.)

I think that the truest, original,fullest,most consistent and most fulfilling Church is the Catholic. I find so much to love in all the churches and religions but only the Catholic can be home to me.

Religion doesn't get one to heaven, no it is believing in Christ and His finished work on the cross.

if you profess with your mouth and believe in your heart you will be saved. simple huh? denominations are basically just different churches with either 1) different traditions or 2) differ on doctrine or interpretation of the bible. i'm in a nondenominational which i love. i suggest nondenominational, but go to a church that believes what you do as closely as possible. as to getting to heaven read the first line.
