You are looking for Heifer International. I'll put their website in the link below. Of interest is a page comparing the Heifer project to other ministries/charities that do the same sorts of work, with links to about 5 other groups. Also, world vision does a similar sort of thing - I'll put their link below too - their twist on it is that you can send someone a gift card that tells them a "something or other" has been donated to a needy village on their behalf.
