The correct answer to your question is this. 1.6 kilometers equal 1 mile. 5 kilometers equal 3.1 miles. 10 kilometers equal 6.2 miles. a marathon always 26.2 miles and a half marathon is 16.1 miles.

The 5K is 3.1 miles, so obviously the 10K is 6.2 miles. A half-marathon is 13.1 miles, and a standard marathon is 26.2 miles.
ANYTHING that is longer than 26.2 miles is considered to be an Ultra- Marathon. They have distances ranging from 50K (31.1 miles) on up to 100 MILES!
My first marathon was the 1991 Marine Corps Marathon. Thanks to the help of some excellent coaches, I was able to finish the distance so easily that I could have run another 3-4 miles at the end... if I HAD to do so! It was nice to know that the 50K distance was within reach if I had trained for it. However, take this advice to heart: The marathon IS the ultimate endurance test. The 26.2 mile distance is where racing ends...and fanatical extremes begin!
Good luck, and good running!

A 5k is 3.125 miles or 3 1/8th. Therefore a 10k is 6.25 miles. A marathon is 26.2 miles and a half marathon is 13.1 miles.

A 5k run is 5 kilometers (3.11 mi), and a 10k would be 10 Kilometers (6.21 mi).
A marathon is 42.195 kilometres (26 miles 385 yards) and a half marathon is 21.0975 kilometers, or 13 7/64 miles, about 13.1 miles

With all due respect, I find it hard to believe that you are now training for a half-marathon, and have no idea what is meant by "pacing"! Let's see if I can help you with this one. Suppose you can run a 10K road race in 50 minutes. That works out to roughly 8 minutes per mile (or 7.5 MPH). Your pace per mile is 8 minutes. All of my runners are training for either a marathon or a half-marathon, and all have had to meet one requirement before I accepted them on my "team". All had to have run and finished 5 5-K races and 5 10-K races. Once I had their times for the distances, I was able to work out the pace at which they would do two of their workouts each week. We use the 5K race pace for speed work on Tuedays. We use the 10K race pace for their long runs on weekends (usually on Sundays). What we do is run AT 5K pace for 1/4 mile "repeats", starting with 4 repeats the first week and adding 2 each week until we reach 16 such "repeat quarters". That means that they are running 4 miles (total) at their own 5K race pace! That can be a tough workout! On weekends, they do their Long Run of the week. Taking an 8-minute mile as a base, we have them run their Long miles at 9:30- 10:00 minutes per mile. This seems very slow (it is!) but there are good reasons for doing it this way. After each 2 miles, we slow them down to a walk for about a minute before they do their next couple of miles. By doing this, each runner also learns how to judge his or her own running pace, KNOWING that he or she is supposed to be running at certain specific speeds for these particular workouts. Of course, all of them wear a watch to time their miles, so they can keep a proper record of their workouts. Now, you might think "If I run THAT slow for those long runs. I'll never reach the finish line!" That's not true! If there is one thing you MUST have in order to reach the Finish Line of a marathon or half-marathon, it's endurance! Speed is something that you can add later, as you become a more mature, seasoned runner. If I was in your shoes, I would not be trying to take on the half-marathon until you become a better, stronger, smarter runner. With a "best time" of over 3 hours, that translates to over 7 hours for a marathon. It means you are almost at a walking pace of about 4 miles per hour. Instead, it might be best for you to build a running "base" by running a lot of shorter races. Doing those 5K, 4 mile and 5 mile races, and the 10K distances, will give you a solid base from which to train once you are really ready for the marathons or half-marathons. Think of it this way: If you are not ready and able to run 10K (6.2 miles) without stopping, then you are also not ready to take on the marathon or half-marathon distances. If you have further questions, please feel free to email me directly. Good luck, and good running!

Marathon = 26.2 miles, or 42195 yards. Half marathon is half that. AIMS is the body who regulate & measure courses for marathons. If it is not AIMS certified may not be accurate.
