My computer crashed and burned. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
Dell Demension 310, I can turn it on and getblue screen that gives me choices of "operate in safe mode/prompt screen only..." I clicked on "safe mode only" and hit "enter" the "Windows" start up screen came up and looked as if it would start up then after 30 seconds went to blank screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me through Answers acct...I'm writing this from the library but I can access my Yahoo email from my phone. Thanx!
I think I downloaded something bad off of Limewire....Got an error report that said to run a check disk, some file with SH! in it was bad...about 20 seconds in to chkdsk screen went blue, alpha numerics started blazing on the screen then ...nada

When you are turning it on before it gets to that blue screen, press f8.
at that point it should give you several options ,including to start in safe mode.
does it have 'last known good configuration'? If so, try that.
Anyway, here is a website with various things to try, inlcuding system restore.

i believe that the problem might be a Hard Disk Drive failure. as well as a memory failure. what did you do to get it to crash? where you running graphic intensive gaming?
