Hosting a golf tournament :goodie bags, raffle, etc.?

We are hosting a charity golf tournament and I want to place memorable, useful items in the goodie bags. So far I have sunscreen, lip balm, snacks, sports water bottle, there will be a golf towel, baseball cap and shirt. Balls and tees as well. What else would be great? We have two raffles (one for a Mercedes and one for a Roadster Golf Cart). I was thinking of having a silent auction. Would that be too much? The website is www.kindfaitheducationfoundation.org.

If it is a bestshot and it is for fun, I would suggest selling Mulligans for $1.00 per shot. If you want to control the amount that someone can purchase, you could limit it to one mulligan, per group, per hole! This has worked in tournaments that I have been a part of in the past. you can raise a lot of extra charity money this way.

    Good luck with the event!

I agree with the person who said to sell mulligans for $1 each. Maybe limit it to two per golfer.

For the goodie bag, I've played in some tournaments where they throw in a koozie as well. Keeps the "beverages" cold if it's a hot day.

o hey cool well i'm turning 12 too on april 18 so happy b-day! well we're gonna probably have dinner out somewhere, then go to see Prom Night, then come have cake & presents and stuff at home. then i'll get like candy flavored lipgloss, a couple magazines, nail polish and candy and we can just hang out. then we're gonna film our own little movie thing with my video camera and hang out some more. they'll sleepover. then (since i get up super early in the morning) i'll make copies of the movie for everyone and they all will get a copy at the end and when we're hanging out i'll just kinda say they can have a lipgloss and chill and stuff. it'll be so much fun! i know thats not really the answer you wanted haha well i hope it'll give you some ideas. happy birthday!

No a silent auction is not too much, most tournaments I have played in have them. It sounds like your goodie bag is pretty well stocked to me, don't think there is anything you need to add to it. Yes, sell mulligans, they are fun for most groups to have.

have a putting contest for $10,000 ...the cost to insure will be about 600. and although chances are slim to make, its exciting for the participants

Source(s): was playing in a scramble at Eagle Vines (Napa, Ca. a Miller design) and they held a ten grand putting competition where one winner of prelim rounds gets one putt (I believe it was 40 ft) to win the dough
