first you have to get the dvd onto your hard drive. Use a RIPing software like dvd shrink or dvd decriptor (both free on the internet) or u could use Nero or Sonic if they came with your computer.

Once the movies are on your hard drive, then there are three ways to watch them: use the tv as a seconary monitor or use a media center extender. To use you tv as a secondary monitor, turn off the computer and plug a cable (such as super video or any other video cable) into the video out of the computer, and theother end into the input of the tv. this is assuming your computer has a video out or second monitor jack. Enable the tv as a secondary monitor or as a clone and then turn on a dvd and go watch it.

the most practical way to watch movies frm your HDD is to use a media center extender. To do this you have to have Windows vists premium or above or windows xp media center edition. You also have to have a wirless network. All you have to do is hook the media center exdender (essentailly a small box with outputs) to your tv. This extender will read what you have in media center on your computer wirlessly, so you will be able to listen to music and watch tv, movies, and photos. Most come with a controller too or you can use the one that came with your media center/vista computer (if you have one). I know that the xbox 360 has a built in media center extender and have seen it work but dont have one myself so if you have a 360 then u dont ahve to buy the extender.

The final option is to use a video device similar to the media center extender but it is not (it uses other software but is essentially the same. I personally use this option. I use my Playstation 3 as the device and it hooks wirelessly (through my network/router) to windows media player. I would suggest if you go with this third option you use a wireless N network as b/g networks cause lag while watching movies. hopes this helps

Yes, you could, and you could do it several different ways.

One way to do it would be to 'rip' your movies onto your hard drive. Which means you basically convert your dvd into an mpeg or avi file. There are alot of programs out there to do this, just google it. Once that's done, you'll just have to plug your computer into your TV and you can watch movies on your TV. This of course assumes you have a TV output capable video card on your computer. How you do that is specific to each card really, so just look in the manual.

As for a menu... when you switch to TV-out, you're basically using your TV as your monitor, so you can just choose which movie you want to play, and play it like you would normally do.
