y am i constantly fighting with myself? y do I want 2 do what I don't want 2 do?

I crave a smoke, but I don't want the negative side affects. I really want a drink, without the negative side affects. I really want a chocolate covered cream filled donut, but I don't want to have to "watch my weight". I want to lay around all the time and eat and watch TV, but I can't because I want to be a good wife and mother. What the hell am I supposed to do? I like to shop, but I don't want to go bankrupt. I hate to exercise, but I want a nice figure. See, life's soooooooo hard.....what's the point? Someone help me please!

screen siren, I totally get what you are saying. I was basically having a moment so I brought it here for a little comfort and encouragement. I found your response however to sound more like my mom. She's always been so..."oh, get over it already". thanks.

Brenda P nailed it. That's what I was in need of. I just get a little burnt out sometime with all this trying to do the right thing stuff. I wasn't raised that way, so in a sense it's out of my comfort zone. It just doesn't come naturally for me. Thank you Brenda.

    I think you are normal. What you describe is the human condition. The Apostle Paul said, "the good that I would, I do not, the evil that I would not, that I do." Everyone has the same struggles if they care about doing the right thing. I would hazard that the people above who do not relate to you do not have as much responsibility as you and do not care as much as you. Allow yourself to be imperfect at least several times a day and if you believe in God, pray for wisdom.

    its like you took the words right out of my mouth

    my thoughts are the same

    the point is your Family

    you are the back bone of the family

    and you are what is holding everything together

    kind of like glue.....

    it is very hard to not do what you want to do

    try to give yourself credit for

    doing what u need to do instead of what you would love to do

    I struggle every day

    wake up get the kids ready get myself ready have all 4 kids

    to school before 7:45 am then get in the office by 8 work all day till 5 then go home laundry dinner homework with the kids

    then finally a little sleep that is when I'm not up worrying about things then get up and do it again I

    find myself actually looking extremely forward to the weekends

    which never seem to last long at all!!!

    I guess we don't have all the right answers or maybe don't even know what the right answer is

    life is not so hard jesus christ! if u crave a smoke buy the patch and suck on something thats lik a cig but no nicoteen. drink but dont get drunk! dont eat a chocolate covered triple toping lah blah blah have a peice of chocolate, make yourself want to be energetic so you dont want to lay around all day sign up for a class, keep yourself busy and keep yourself leveled the trick is to think of whats best for you and not taking everything to far

    It's just life. No ones is easy. We must simply do the best we can at any particular moment. Give yourself a break every once in a while, no one is perfect or expected to be. Calm down, take some deep breaths, you will be OK. I swear.

    everyone has the same struggles. id like to smoke but i know i don't want the long term side effects so i've stopped, same with drinking. and id really like to eat a big hot fudge sunday right now, but i know i shouldn't. it is how life is. don't stress over the little things.

    i used to be like you, just relax, do tai chi (helps calsm and relaxes you) and be ignorant sometimes, coz..ignorance is bliss my friend,

    if this is a mental condition or psychologicla, go see a doctor

    i mean, get your life back on track man, its nor that hard, (well for some but you can still snap out of it natrually)

    and dont be a worry wart

    Maybe its because your always thinking about everything.

    You should sometimes give in to your thoughts.

    Do want you want to do,theres no one to boss you.

    Your an adult that can do anything!

    Of course make sure to follow the law.

    thats alot of pressure you got going on,you deserve to be good to yourself once in a while

    you got amazing self control!!!!

    OMG how do you do it?

    I'll pass this message along to my friend's brother who's stationed in Iraq...maybe he can share it with the other soldiers to build morale so that they can clearly see the destruction, death and fear of death that they deal with everyday is trivial compared to your real problems.

    You deserved an award for being so strong in this difficult time in your life...

    Oh for the record I wasn't trying to be mean...I was just being overly sarcastic to solidify my point.
