What is the best transportation from Niagara Falls, New York to Niagara Falls, Ontario?

I'm flying in to NY, but staying in Ont., what would be the cheapest way to get there? Renting a car? Taxi? Are there any shuttles?

That totally depends on where you are, and where you want to be. The Rainbow Bridge goes between Niagara Falls NY and Niagara Falls Ontario. The cheapest way is to walk across the bridge. Car traffic is also quite allowed. Taxis will charge quite a bit to go across, due to wait times, and inability to get a fare to come back.

I suggest you rent a car. Bring or rent a GPS unit.

Flying into NY - The Niagara Falls airport is not walking distance from any hotels, and not walking distance to Canada.

I don't know of any shuttles that cross the border. Greyhound runs buses, but those aren't as frequent as you would like for a visit.

Note - bring a passport for ease of crossing the border.

If you're staying at a hotel, there may be a shuttle...I didn't know there was an airport in Niagara Falls, I've always flown into Buffalo, in which case, it would be way cheaper to rent a car for the stay.

I always walk across the rainbow bridge. Takes you from downtown to downtown.

If you fly into Buffalo though, you are probably closer to the Peace Bridge and too far to walk to either. I do believe there is a Niagara Airbus shuttle that goes across the border, not 100% sure though.

I recently went on a trip, and we wernt allowed to take a rental car over the border. Make sure if your going to rent a car you ask specially that your allowed to take it across the border. But you can take a taxi too. If you take a bus Border crossings can take up to 1 hour or so depending on the size of the bus make sure you have a passport, it makes crossing the border way easier!

Here is a website that might be helpful!

I rented a car and the driving there wasn't bad...Are you flying into Buffalo? The drive from the airport to Niagara isn't bad either...There are toll spots, three on the way and two on the way back...

If you going to go there its worth it to stay on the Canadian side, its much nicer with better views and many attractions and things to do, for example Clifton Hill, at night the falls are light up and the view is way better, plus there`s a huge Casino, bars and a pretty big ferris wheel.

Rent a car, its def the best situation, its cheap and you can pretty much go anywhere... take it from someone who lives here... the tourist stuff gets expensive and boring fast.

Can't you just walk across that bridge from Goat Island to our side?
