At work, I use an Olympus CAmedia C3040zoom camera. When using it through a microscope, it is "helping" me by "fixing" the lighting, which either makes the picture almost all white or awfully dark. It doesn't seem to do it without the microscope. The screen on the back of the camera looks like a perfect shot. How do I turn off this "feature"?

Example: if you have a piece of paper or wood in a vacuum (no oxygen) and heated it up hot enough, would it melt? Does it matter if the hot material contained any oxygen in the molecules?

Does the wearer lose peripheral vision?

Is it hot wearing one?

Does the air get stuffy?

When the wearer turns her head, does the mesh window over the face turn easily?

Considering the climate they are typically worn in, why are they mostly dark colors while the men wear lighter colors? Is it for opaqueness?

The pinecone(s) are coming from a soft-needle pine tree (don't know what type) in Ontario. How do I tell when the pinecone is ripe for plucking? I don't want it immature, nor do I want to lose the seeds to the wind.

Is the best way to plant it to let it dry inside and then take out the seeds for planting?

If it is not available, or you don't know, does anyone have any guesses or estimates?

The issue came on suddenly. My camera is a Canon Powershot A540. Batteries are AA. I tried Duracell Ultra (alkaline), I tried re-chargeables. A multimeter says that the batteries have 1.5+ volts each. What is wrong, and how can I fix it?

Some "coverings" include a nun's habit or Muslim niqab, versus wearing typical local garb. How do strangers treat you differently? How do you feel you should be treated? Do you feel different when displaying your faith in this way? Why?
