What's the weirdest item/things that you recycle and why?

I was just wondering out in "answers" land if anyone recycyled or reused anything that is weird/odd.. I recycle dryer lint from the trap on my dryer in the spring/summer/fall the birds LOVE it to line their nests.. Also, when I brush my dog I'll toss that in the yard as well for the birds OR I'll stuff it down mole/chipmunk holes to keep them from digging in the lawn !

I sit and cut out the little windows on mail and recycle everything. he recycling station is NOT a close drive so I have a small shed that I store it in.. I look really silly on recycle day (once a month). I just tore a keyboard apart so I could recycle the keys and make magnets out of them and a wallet out of the internal part.

Even the smallest plastic items get tossed in the recycle bin. I recycle all of the discarded paper that comes in the mail, including envelopes from bills, etc. Maybe that is not weird, but so many people i know that claim to be environmentally conscious just do the bare minimum...cans, newspapers, etc.

I didn't personally recycles this, however I walked into the kitchen and found my 81 yr old Mother-in-law washing a paper Dixie plate. We had a good laugh as we watched the paper plate fall apart.I also recycle hair from cat to keep the squirrels away from bird feeders.

The dog hair could also go in the compost. I save everything that could remotely have another use. That may sound like a house full of garbage, but since I subscribe to the first R which is "refuse", I produce very little waste.

I recently read about some individuals that were recycling used condoms (In China, of course) and making hair bands from them. It's disgusting, but it is a form of recycling through re-use.
