A friend & male co-worker of mine is getting married NEXT summer. I thought it would be a good/useful & humorous gift to assemble a large laundry basket of cleaning supplies/tools for the newlyweds. *They both still live at home & have never lived anywhere but, home. It's on the humorous side as I do cleaning/maintance for where we work. I have a little LESS than a yr to assemble the gift.

Ok, I have this neighbor only she's not our neighbor anymore. She just sold her house to her mother. Anyway, the daughter comes over here and there 2x or more a week and she's constantly using and borrowing things often without asking. Last week my husband had the garage open he was in the back mowing the yard and when he was done she had made off with our gas can filled her lawn mower and mowed her grass.. This morning I got up and heard water running- I thought there was something wrong with our toilet or something was running and it was her filling a bucket with HOT water from our outside tap. When is "enough, enough"? She always says "oh I'll give you money" not that I want her money but, I haven't seen a dime in 3 yrs. this has been going on.. How do I politely say- "I don't want you borrowing our things anymore. Without hurting her feelings- her mother will be our new neighber here shortly... Thanks..

Recently, I found out my first "love" died unexpectedly. We dated a long time ago and since hadn't spoken or gotten in touch. Back in the day we were quite serious but, things didn't work out. We went on with our lives and now that he's passed. I feel sad about it.... My question is.. Is it possible that he's been trying to "contact" me? When we were together we loved music we'd drive around and listen to the radio etc... I've been hearing a lot of the songs WE loved on my mp3 player... Is this coincidence or is he trying to tell me he's ok? Weird..! I know!

Here's the situation.. My parents couldn't sell there house when they wanted to retire. So, to help them they set the rent at $650 and we basically "rent" their house. They relocated to NC from Ohio. Where they purchased and rehabbed a house and then because my younger brother can't do anything on his own took him in AND his baby. So, the house was too small.. They decided to build a house on some property close by... So, in short they have 3 morgages. They tried to give us a "deal of a lifetime" for their home which we live in... However, it's NOT something we can readily afford at this time. Which we tried to tell them 2 yrs. ago. So, they want to put the house we rent on the market soon...

Here's the petty part. We pay rent, utilities and try to maintain the home as best we can.. However, certain things have happened beyond our control... When we moved in the house was infested with fleas. We got rid of them and took the supplies used off the rent ($50).... The basement flooded w/ sewage and we had to buy and clean-up * it was mostly THEIR things in storage.... I also did ALL the work in filing the claim for the insurance! They got 10k and I was reimbursed $1,500 MINUS the next months rent.... The sump pump needed to be fixed so we had a friend that 's master plumber fix the sump pump/switch for FREE.. AND he also snaked the drains and pressure treated them for FREE after the flood... This week.. Our furnace went out since my MIL works for a heating/cooling company she sent a tech of hers after hours to inspect/fix our furnace.. He didn't charge us! He's also ordering us a NEW pump AND coming over for a clean/check. he's not charging us... My husband deducted $35 for a bill that's for the house.. So, my parents called and want that money back ASAP.. I think they are being petty and childish..

I was thinking I should have any work that friends/family did to the house billed and receipted... So, they can see what we do for them to keep the costs down.. I'm pretty upset they are being so childish.... The work our friends did saved them about $500 or more dollars.... They should be more thankful and resonable... Sorry this is so long... I felt the need to provide details on the situation...

Hi, I know this is probably a dumb question but, for halloween I'm making some decorations... One is painted milk bone dog biscuits (white) and strung on twine... However, it would be a shame to just paint them using temper paint and throw them out... I have a dog and I would like to be able to give her the treats once the party is over...

I was thinking of coating them with a thin layer of white chocolate.. Since white chocolate really isn't chocolate but, does it contain the same "poison" as real chocolate? I wasn't sure... Would it be same to coat the treats in white chocolate and give them to the dog as a treat every now and then.... I have a large breed dog... Rottweiler

Hi, I'm a SAHM of 2 toddler boys and we're not planning on having any more... So, I sold most of my outgrown baby gear to a co-worker/friend for $225. My MIL insisted that I SAVE everything for her daughter my SIL who's NOT even pregnant!

The friend I sold my items to has two jobs and she works very hard I thought that she could use the items considering that she is pregnant and expecting this yr. While my SIL and her husband make a very comfortable living and can afford to buy new and she'll have a couple BIG showers from her co-workers, husbands family and her own.... Also, NONE of the items given were items from my MIL or people that she knows they were items I received from friends. I still have the crib, glider/ottoman as well as a pack n play that if she wants them she can have but, the other items were just taking up too much space... Do you think I'm in the WRONG?

If I have a DVD burner can I copy some of the movies for my own personal use? Or do I need special software to do so and if so what kind of software would I need..? I have an older computer with high speed internet through cable....? Thanks for any input and suggestions...

Hi, I hope someone that has green thumbs can help me.. I got two really pretty potted red tulips for EASTER and I would once the weather warms up would like to plant them... Do I have to wait for them to bloom and then plant them or just transplant them when the weather warms up.... I'm in OHIO and it's still pretty cold here about mid 30's... Once they bloom can I still plant them? Thanks

Hi, I was wondering how many people on here use coupons and how much they save on avg. a month ?

* Yesterday we went to Target and SAVED $38 dollars in coupons and "free" gift cards. We then went to lunch and used a coupon for a BOGO free entress so that was another $15 ! Does anyone else do this and how much do you save in coupons?

Ok, so I've been seeing the commercials and such for the NEUTROGENA skin gadget the wave.. It has pads with cleanser on them you it vibrates to clean your skin really deep... I just bought one and I'm alittle disappointed....

*The pads are really small and the cleanser doesn't foam up all that well... I actually added my normal cleanser to my face and used the little gadget... That seemed to help... The WAVE device itself cost about $12.... I printed a $2.00 off manufacter's coupon AND since the box was mangled up at TARGET I got an additional 10% off... The refills for 30 small pads it's about $6.99 which isn't too bad and I have a $3.00 coupon for the refills... Target didn't have them.

I'm thinking about calling NEUTROGENA to tell what I "think" about this product. Has anyone else used this? What are your thoughts?

I just ran out of my large size "perfect world" face serum.. Though, it lasted for about a year it's very expensive for my budget ($65) for a container...Does anyone know of another brand that would be just as good or better for a lower price?

I don't have acne but, I get little reds bumps on my face and the serum calmed them down....

Ok, so me/husband were watching tv and a local channel had survival tips and emergency prepare list. Do you have a kit and supplies necessary for your family/pets? What do you have and where do you store it?

We're thinking about making a kit and putting something together.. .What should we do ! I've checked out READY.gov for a list of supplies.. I was just curious on what others have- 3 have two toddlers and a large breed dog !

Hi, I have a pampered chef- oil dipping set that I got as a gift. I use it all the time and my husband broke the top... It's broken in about 4 pieces on the neck of the bottle.. Does Pampered Chef have a "replacement warranty" on their items? I seem to remember the sales rep. saying something about a lifetime warranty but, it was a long time ago... If anyone can help me I would really appreciate the help !

I recycle- dryer sheets to use on towels to they are static free/smell nice but, DON'T get coated with softner.

I recycle dryer lint in the spring/summer/fall for birds to line their nest I also toss out dog hair off my dog for the birds nest OR I stuff it into mole holes/chipmunk holes to stop them from digging....

Ok, my SIL when she watches our two children ages 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 she NEVER changes their diapers. We thought at first it was just an oversight she took the 3 yr. old out for a few hours and brought him back and even told us she didn't change his diaper.. It wasn't that big a deal- since they were only gone 4 hrs. and where they went didn't have "diaper" changing facilities.

We rarely ask her to babysit the children but, I was working that evening and my husband had a work related mtg. close to her house so she said she would watch the children a few hours. I had them ready to go at 4:30pm--they were dropped off and left until 9pm. When my husband picked them up they BOTH had enormous diapers. He ofcourse didn't say anything.

They don't have children- however they have a "stupid" cat that I've house sat for while they were out of town. They have a list a mile long of what to do and how to take care of their stupid cat but, they can't figure out that two tots need changing?

I was just wondering out in "answers" land if anyone recycyled or reused anything that is weird/odd.. I just ordered an E.L.F 12 piece professional cosmetics brush set.. It's a fabulous set for only $12 ! I also ordered a second set for 1/2 price as a gift.

I like the brushes very much and have been interested in trying out the make-up. I have some liquid eyeliner and it's good... Almost everything on the site is $1... !

I'm picky about foundation/powder but, eyeshadows, blush I like to try different things...

Anyone have experiences good/bad with E.L.F cosmetics?
