Forgive me for the long post , but im scared , real scared.?

On January 15th I weighed 201lbs, I was weighed on a big digital scale in my former Drs Office (I was under alot of stress that week, no diarrhea, didn’t eat that much maybe once a day. I was drinking alot of water)

On January 22nd-23rd I weighed 196lbs , I was weighed on a sit down chair type scale in hospital (I was still under stress , just got off of zithromax , had diarrhea , was eating somewhat normally like I was) Looks like I lost 5lbs in 7 days

On January 24th I weighed in at 193lbs, I was weighed on a big digital scale in my former Drs Office (I was still under some stress, had moderate diarrhea, was eating somewhat normal, still drinking alot of water) Looks like I lost 3lbs in 24hrs

On January 29th I weighed in at 191lbs, I was weighed on a regular doctors office scale in my new Drs Office (under some stress, had moderate diarrhea, eating normal, drinking water still) Looks like I lost 2lbs in 5 days

On February 6th I weighed in at 188lbs , I was weighed on 2 different regular doctors office scales at Lincolns health center (under a little stress , no diarrhea, eating normal, drinking some water , a sprite here and there , and coffee in the morning) Looks like I lost 3lbs in 8 days

The reason I was under alot of stress the 1st week was due to an infection that I had that was called cat scratch disease. The ER Dr at st. marys diagnosed me with that on the 13th of January. I of course didn’t believe him when he said that to me. And when I went to see my former Dr on the 15th, he agreed with the ER Dr and said that’s what I got. Of course I still didn’t believe either of them. So on the 16th, I went for a second opinion at capital region ER. The ER doctor there agreed with my former Dr and the dude at st. marys, but she gave me zithromax to help fight off the infection. During that whole week, I wasn’t eating that much because of feeling depressed, and constant worrying over the situation. I was however drinking alot of water. During that week, I was having normal bowel habits like I always did until the 17th. On the 17th I had really bad diarrhea. I don’t know if it was because of the zithromax or not. I was eating again somewhat. On the 22nd I was having alot of pain in my upper right side of my stomach. I remember I passed gas that day, and I felt something come out. I thought I pooped my pants but I didn’t. What came out was clear looking mucus. I went to st. marys, and the Dr there scared the **** outta me saying weird things. They drew blood and had me take an x-ray of my stomach, plus a cat scan of my stomach. When the results came back, they noticed that my White blood cell count was at 20,000. This made them think that I had an infection somewhere. When the results of my x-ray came back, it stated that I had a non specific scattered bowel gas pattern. When the results of my cat scan came back it stated that I had some dilated loops of small bowel, no obstructions, nothing out of the ordinary except that it showed there was a segmental thickening of the sigmoid bowel. It stated that it was most likely due to poor distention. I was admitted that night for observation. I was released the next morning because my WBC dropped down to 11. I was told that I was supposed to have a colonoscopy. I saw my former Dr the next day on the 24th, and he cancelled the colonoscopy. I asked him why, he stated that there was no need for it. He said he spoke to the gastroenterologist, and that guy thought that maybe I have crohn's or Colitis, or IBS. So with all the it could be this or that, and him not wanting to investigate it further, I went to a new Dr. I saw him on the 29th. He stated to me that he's leaning towards IBS. I had an incident the other day with the mucus thing again when I passed gas. He is having me do a colonoscopy on the 12th. He stated still that he’s leaning toward the IBS thing cause of the mucus situation; supposedly it’s a common symptom. So yeah, im still a little worried. All 3 Drs, My Former Dr, the ER Dr, and my new Dr, agreed on one thing, that I shouldn’t worry about having cancer. What do you think is going on with me?

Update:

my bowel habits are a littile outta whack though. I only tend to go now in the morning after i get up. No blood. Sometimes i go like 3-4 times, then the rest of the day i wont go. Sometime very little comes out, sometimes alot does.

Update 2:

The reason behind me asking this question , is to find out if anyone else is going through it , or has gone through it. My former Dr kept giving me all these what if scenerios , and didnt want to follow up with any of it. So i got tired of the it could be this/it could be that.

Not meaning to sound rude, but if you do not believe what three medical doctors are telling you, why would you believe what people that have no idea about your health would say to you? Take a chill pill and relax. You should be thankful if they are saying no cancer. My brother has been dealing with it for the past three years. I was diagnosed with IBS and with a change in my diet I do not have near the problems I was having. No coffee, very small amounts of sugar because it does cause gas and eat healthy. Also see if diary products make the problem worse. Also stress is really bad for people who have IBS.

As to your question about Zithromax causing diarrhea?? Yes any antibiotic has the capability to cause diarrhea. The reason is because antibiotics kill any and all bacteria in your body whether it is the good bacteria in your bowels that is needed for digestion and regular bowel movements or the bad bacteria that is causing the infection. Get some lactobacillus acidophilis tablets to restore the natural flora of your intestines.

I think you should relax. I think you should listen to the doctors because the symptons seem to relate to the diagnosis. But on the other hand if you are still not sure you should go see another doctor. My mother had been having pain on her right side for a while, but she wouldn't go to the doctor. then is started to get worse. She finally went to the doctor and they said it was the fibroid tumors she had. She had surgery but the pain didn't go away. She seeked other doctors who refered her to a gastroentologists. They did all kind of test one was a colonoscopy where they found she had an inflamation somewhere on her stomach. The pain didnt go away so she started seeing a urologist. He thought her kidneys were blocked so he put a stint in the drain the kidney. Pain was still there. She went to St. Dominics hospital where the doctors found a mass on her kidney. She had to have it removed. They removed the kidney and found that it was cancerous. Now she has to travel to MDA in Houston, Texas to get treatment. She lost about 60 pounds in 6 months but that was because she wasn't eating. I'm not trying to scare you but if you are not satisfied with the diagnosis you go seek other help.

All of this strange stuff going on can be scarry. Its only natural for you to worry that you may have cancer. Actually alot of it is probably because of stress. Stress can do amazing things to your body, and simulate many diseases. Try this to help ease your stress and relax yourself:

Try to do this 3-times a day. Sit in a chair with your back straight, or lay flat on a bed. Mentally tell yourself to "Relax" and take a really deep breath. While holding your breath, pull your shoulders to your ears and hold them there tight. Count to threee and then relax your shoulders and release your breath. Repeat this two more times. Then do the same thing with other muscles. Make fists to tighten your forearms, then let go. Point your toes towards your forehead and then let go. Try tensing and relasing as many muscles as possible to get rid of the stress.

    Hope this helps.

Bowel cancer doesn't present with the symptoms you describe, which is why the doctors are leaning toward IBS or Crohn's Disease. Both get worse with stress and produce mucus.

I agree- take a chill pill.

All three Drs are leaning toward IBS. I think you should go along with that. Get the idea of cancer right out of your mind. I have a couple of friends who have had IBS and had symptoms like you have described. So please stop worrying and go along with the Drs. You will only get depressed and that will not help at all. Try to think positively. Easy for me to say I know. But please do try.

Come back soon and tell us it is IBS, like the Dr said.

Relax - all the right tests have or are being done. It does sound like IBS. But IBS is usually the first diagnoses, if problems persist then Crone's is usually suspected. I am going through this with my middle daughter right now. She has lost over 30 pounds in the last few weeks. We have a history of Crone's in our family, but right now they are saying IBS. Get the Cancer fear out of your head. the other three things are no fun but are treatable....

You don't believe your doctors very much, do you? Doctor shopping until you get the answer you want is poor practice.

Get your colonoscopy and find out what is going on. There are other problem that can cause this.
