Need a new dinner idea?
I am going to the market in about 1/2 hour. I am looking for a good dinner, something new. It can't be cheese based, use any type of canned soup, anything that is highly preserved. I like to use fresh ingredients whenever possible. If you could please provide the sides you make with it. Oh, and no Mexican.

Grilled boneless chicken breast or seared/grilled tuna steak with cavatelli and broccoli rabe (fresh of course)
Saute the broccoli rabe with chopped fresh garlic in olive oil and a couple pats of butter, when tender add some chicken stock (I get the kind in the cardboard like containers and organic or most often have my own in the freezer, add some white wine and let cook down a little bit. Put over the cavatelli and toss. (I usually toss in a bunch of parm or romano cheese)
At this point you can either eat the chicken or fish on the side or you can cut it up/slice it and serve it over the pasta.
Get a good bread too and heat it up...

Soup:
1 lb of italian sausage (sweet mid or hot)
1 package of sweet italian turkey sausage links, as in hot dog size(or just regular sausage links)
1/2 lb of orzo (half of a lb package, roughly)
2 cartons of Swanson chicken broth, or beef
2-3 cups of water
half stick of BUTTER (not margerine, you will lose the flavor)
Any kind of vegetable that you would like that goes well with soup (i.e. corn, greenbeans, beans of all sorts, mushrooms, etc.)
Cook the ground sausage with some garlic or seasoning of your choice if wanted, or no seasoning at all. Add 1 cup of water and the sausage links. Cook the sausage until the sausage is almost cooked through: remove and slice CAREFULLY! The sausage is really tender and tends to get squeezed out of the wrapping. Add the rest of the water, chicken broth and vegetables of your choosing. Cook until just about ready, then add the orzo and let cook for 8-10 minutes. Serve with slice french bread for dipping purposes!
I cooked with oregano, italian seasoning, basil (fresh), thyme (fresh), and bay leaves (2, fresh.)

Soak a fresh salmon filet in teriyaki sauce or maple syrup, then grill. I serve it with baked baby potatoes (rolled in olive oil, pepper and salt), and boiled broccoli. If I'm serving it to guests, I make roasted asparagus.

How about baked chicken, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Good and tasty, easy to make!
