I am moving to Jamaica, will be traveling back to the US often and travel leisurely as much as I can. Does anyone know of a plan that will provide these services?

  • Family Recipe Ideas?

I am looking for some good old fashioned tried and true recipes. Anything from starters to desserts. There are only a few restrictions: no peanuts, no ricotta cheese, a little spice is okay, but nothing to blow your head off, none of those weird grains, nothing with canned soup or anything with a ton of preservatives in it, and I have to be able to get the ingredients at the supermarket. I have a pretty good one though.

  • Meat and Moving to JA?

We are moving to Jamaica this summer. My husband and daughter are huge meat eaters. They love lamb chops, delmonicos, roast beef, crown roasts. Does anyone know of a company in Jamaica that sells these types of upscale meats or a company that ships in dry ice so it's still good when it gets to me?

  • Homemade Rice a Roni?

I don't want any recipes. I made a pretty good cheesey rice a roni like you get in the box tonight, but I had to use velveeta to get that yellow salty flavor the kids like with a mixture of organic cheddar. Does anyone have an idea of another type of cheese I can use that is healthier (less preservatives) than velveeta to get the same effect?

  • What is the best way to buy group airfare?

I have a family reunion in June, I heard it's supposed to be cheaper buying group airfare, but it was more than $200 higher when I called. Am I doing something wrong?

  • Planning a Trip to Spain?

It probably won't be for at least a year and a half. Right now we live in the US, but then we will be living in Jamaica. I am going to be volunteering for an AIDS project so money is going to be limited. I need an inexpensive way to travel to Spain (hubbies dream) and thinking of bringing my will be 8 year old daughter.

  • Chicken Breast Question?

I bought some bone in chicken breast that seem rather large. I cook all the time, but I don't think I have ever made bone in chicken breast. Are there any tried and true recipes that you know. Also, how do I know when they are done, but not overcooked?

  • Need a new dinner idea?

I am going to the market in about 1/2 hour. I am looking for a good dinner, something new. It can't be cheese based, use any type of canned soup, anything that is highly preserved. I like to use fresh ingredients whenever possible. If you could please provide the sides you make with it. Oh, and no Mexican.

  • Home made potato chip question?

I plan on making some home made chips for the game on Sunday. The thing is I like them warm and think most people will like them warm as well. Is there a way to keep the potoatoes after being cut so I can cook them in batches throughout the game? I have a fryer that maintains a certain heat so I can leave it on for quite a while. Also, I generally just top with salt, any ideas for interesting toppings?

  • Is these dishes Kosher?

My cousins' grandfather passed yesterday. I was also very close to him since I was a young child. They are having the meal after the funeral catered, but I asked if I could bring something and my cousins requested two things. One stays Kosher, the other doesn't. But I want to make sure that everyone at the funeral can eat it without question and don't really want to bother them about Kosher food today.

The first dish my cousin asked for is stuffed frech toast. The ingredients are eggs, heavy cream, italian bread, cinnamon, syrup, cream cheese and walnuts. Oh an butter for the pan, but I could use something else. Should I look for something specific on the containers that I buy so that I keep it Kosher, I want everyone there to enjoy it.

The other is empanadas served with store bought salsa. The empanada dough is store bought and I know it has lard in it. It doesn't specify what type of lard. It is filled with mozz. cheese and deep fried. Like fried cheese turnovers.

  • Education as related to board games?

I'v noticed more and more board games have become computerized and based around the television. I understand that we're still playing games with our children, and that's good. Are we allowing our children to miss out on the learning while playing modern board games. Something as simple as counting the money in life and monopoly, now you get a "debit" card. The act of surrendering money, that a child can't always have their own way. The act of picking up all of the money, cards, etc and putting them away in the correct spaces (mind you I haven't seen these new game) is just another skill. Then I just saw Pictionary Jr. has a game where you watch animators draw the scenes. I always viewed this game as a reading activity, an eye hand coordination activity. Again, I haven't played the game. Do you think that all these newfangled games are taking away a learning experience that as 25+'s have all experienced. I'm guilty of buying some of video games, etc. what is your opinion?

  • Alternative Thanksgiving Ideas?

I am going to have quite a few people in and out all day. I don't want to make a traditional dinner, instead I would like to prepare appetizers that are Thanksgiving Inspired. I have posted this before and one person suggested a turkey canape with cranberry relish and brie. They also suggested fresh green beans with a dill dip. This is the type of thing that I am looking for. I want 1 - 2 bite morsels that I can bring out as guests arrive. I want a lot of choices.

  • I haven't eaten any real food for about a week and am not hungry.?

Let me preface this by saying that I am not trying to loose weight, I just have not been hungry. Every once in a while I will grab a few chips, a pickle, anything really salty, but it's only like once a day. I am still drinking, still having bowel movement (don't understand how) and feel fine. Although I do take a prenatal vitamin every day as I have for nearly 7 years. Any ideas?
