Yahoo Point System?
I don't understand why when I ask a question I get a -5. Is that usual. Also, I don't understand why I am questioning this. Is anyone else caring about this?

You lose -5 when you ask a question
that is how it goes for everyone else. Even if I asked a question I would have -5 from my score too. You are asking this because you can't understand why the point system well I am here to help you. I will also say this if you don't ask you will never know and this will be bothering you. It better to ask lose 5 points and you will have your answer.
You can get some points back
answer some questions 2 pts
get your answers the best 10
choose the person who answers your question 3 pts
rating ( 50 thumbs up along with a best answer ) 1 pt

That is how Yahoo! designed answers to work. If you click on your points total it will take you to a sub page which explains the points system fully. I don't think anyone else is really bothered so much about the points cos it's not like you can do anything with them. If you could redeem them for some Marks and Sparks vouchers, or Argos vouchers then fair enough, but they are pretty useless you know.

It is normal to lose 5 points when you ask a question, everyone loses those points not just you.
I don't really mind it because I answer alot and I almost never ask questions so I don't care but some people are the opposite of me so they care about losing 5 points for asking a question.

Yeah whenever you ask a question you get a -5. Its fine to me. To get these points back just choose a perfect answer for the question. You get 3/5 points back.

haha, yes I care. Yes, it happens to everyone unfortunately. Also, when you choose a best answer you get three of those five points back. You're still out two points though. Sucks huh? Oh well, just work on getting yourself some best answers and rake in the points! Well, good luck and take care :)

yes you do lose five pts for asking a question but if you choose a best answer then you get 3pts back. its an incentive to get the asker of the question to select the best answer and not have it go to a public vote.

you gain points when you answer question yet, when you ask questions your using your points. it's kinda like their giving you an award for answering other peoples questions. and no i don't care about this question at all... im just waiting for someone to answer the question that i just asked. :D

you lose five points for asking a question, but if you pick a best answer you get three back, and then im sure you know you get 2 for every answer you give, and 10 for a best answer, if you get thumbs up with your best answer you get one point for each thumbs up you got (to a certain limit)
