Reformatted C:Drive?

I reformatted my C:Drive and reinstalled all the drivers that were provided by Dell. My computer no longer goes into hibernate and the pixel number is incorrect. I attempted to fix these going through control panel with no luck. I also lost the DVD play and burner. How can I get back my original drivers?

I have had many problems with drivers, but found that Dell has a great system for helping you get the drivers you need. Go to support.dell.com and click Drivers & Downloads. From there click on Service Tag, you will need to find that sticker on your machine (for my laptop its LLL#LL#, with L being a letter and # being a number). After you plug that in and hit enter it will let u select your OS, and then hit next again. Then it will display many catagories with downloads (programs and drivers) that pertain to the exact hardware Dell installed on your machine.

    Hi,

For Hibernation, you can set it up through power options:

Control Panel > Power Options > click on "Hibernate" tab > enable Hibernation.

After this, use "Advance" tab for configuring the hibernation or anyother power options (such as closing of lids, etc.).

By "pixel number" you mean screen resolution, if so, make sure that you are using the correct driver for your display device. Because by default, Windows XP does picks up the driver but sometimes it does not suits well.

If you are having difficulties in setting up the driver, go to Dell.com and enter your laptop's model number, it should get you all the necessary and accurate drivers.

Howevver, if you are sure that you have got all the correct drivers, then try this:

Right click on desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Adapter > click on "List all modes" button, from here you can see the modes / resolutions supported by your device.

    Hope it helps!

Well its a bit to late now, but b4 you did the wipe you should have saved ALL of your drivers(.dll files) to a flash drive or something so that u could install them again after the cleanup. Umm, if you know the exact name or serial number of your hardware you could probably look them up online and download the drivers from there.
