at first it may seem real hard and significant of a change, eventually a few months down the road you will laugh at how hard you thought it was. it will seem like a peice of cake. Samething with vegetarianism to veganism, at first it seems really tough and then once stick to it for a while, its going to seem like nothing. I know myself and other vegans share the common thought that converting to veganism was soo simple that it is almost unfathomable to hear people say that they can't give up, i.e. impossible, to give up meat. As it may be true in our thoughts, I do empathize and realize that any lifestyle change takes some work, but honestly it may seem tough at first, eventually you won't even remember how you lived, relying on meat as a source of food.
Good luck and congratulations.

No, it isn't very difficult, but if you feel the need to become vegetarian you should do it slowly on your own time, and not pay attention to what others say about the food you eat or when you eat it though. But for some it is hard to stay a vegetarian, though fake meats aren't very good for you either and sometimes they can be a lot worse than real meat for you, especially since too many processed foods are bad for you. If all you ate was vegetables and nothing else, yes your weight would go down but you would need fruits and nuts in your diet like avocados which are technically a fruit and they contain good fats whcih you need about 60 grams of a day.

It's pretty easy, at least it was for me. Most regular supermarkets have a wide variety of fake meats these days, and even restaurant chains like Burger King and Johnny Rockets are adding veggie burgers to their menus.
To answer your other question, weight depends on a lot of factors (such as genes, diet, exercise, etc). You'll probably have trouble losing weight on a junk food diet, whether it's vegetarian or not. But as a group, vegetarians are slimmer than meat-eaters.

it'll seem hard in the beginning moreso because you'll have to explain it to everyone and answer a million questions!!!!
i found finding new foods to eat to be fun, i also started cooking for myself more and i enjoy both things....
it is hard when you go out to eat sometimes. your options are limited, but you can still get at least one thing anywhere!
with all the meat free options out there today it shouldn't be too hard! just remember why your doing it and stick to it!

when I decided to become a vegetarian I started out slowly. First I took away the red meats and stuck with just poultry and seafood, then took away the poultry and eventually seafood. It made the transition very smooth for me.

surprisingly it isn't hard at all. i thought it would be, but after trying it out for about 2 weeks, i realized i was a vegetarian. just the thought is pretty sickening now. so for me personally, the transition was easy and quick, and not even that purposeful. it just sort of happened and i'm glad.

The hardest part is putting up with the ignorant comments....but then you remember that they've got red meat rotting in their stomachs, and lots of fat in their veins....and you tend to just write it off as that....ignorance.
