Beside word of mouth.... I have a totally free Myspace account and I add at least 20 people a day and I have gotten lots of work from there including weddings.

Check with you local newspaper, alot of them do small ads that are 2x2 and not that costly, You could just advertise your name and phone number and email. Ours is like $25.00 weekly and everyone will see it.

Participate in local bridal shows. Advertise in local bridal magazines. There are some bridal websites that promote vendors. Hand out business cards to everyone you come into contact with. Get brochures made up especially for the bridal shows. Advertise on Craigslist for your area.

Put your name in at the local catering halls or banquet halls or places where receptions are held and they may suggest you to couples renting their facilities. Attend bridal shows. Leave info at rental shops for formal wear. Post some of your work at a local cafe or city library etc. Good luck to you.

Start shooting for an existing studio until you build up enough work of your own.
