Thinking about buying a Digital Flatscreen TV,What do I need to get started?Any special hook-ups needed?

Anything special needed to install a Digital flatscreen, such as special cables or other special wiring? Or can I just plug it in to my outlet and Direct TV and expect it to work the way it should?

    In addition if you want free hd hook up a standard vhf/uhf antenna and you will recieve broadcast HD which is sharper than cable.

    You need to have a HD receiver from your signal source and the best cable from the receiver to the TV is and HDMI cable. If you plug just your normal receiver into the TV it will not broadcast the HD signals. You willl also need to subscribe to the HD service on Direct TV in order to receive the HD channels.

    No, nothing special needed

    I bought a flat screen last year and hooked it up to my direct tv reciever using nothing but what came with the tv.
