Did anyone else's tailbone hurt a lot when they were pregnant?

I work in an office and I know I should get up more often and walk around but that's easier said than done when you're in the middle of working... anyway... I was just wondering if anyone else had a problem with their tailbone hurting when they were pregnant. When I was about 20 I fell off a chair and bruised my tailbone really bad and it hurt for a while after that (year's actually) until I had my first child and then it went away... now's it's back again. Is it unusual for your tailbone to hurt when pregnant and can I expect this to go away when the baby's born?

I havent met anyone else whos tailbone hurts tremedously when pregnant. mine hurt so bad when I sat down and it made it hard for me to stand up to, like I had to stand up and do it slowly it hurt so bad, I never fell I just got up real quik one day and it had hurt since then thats when I was pregnant though, I had to have a C-section because my hips were fused and my cervix wouldnt open and then the doc found out that my tailbone sticks out forward into my pelvic area making it imposible to have kids naturaly. I dont know how it happend but I do know how you feel and I know the pain that it has it went away after I had my daughter but even now sometimes like yesterday I had trouble geting back up becasue my tailbone started to hurt. I dont know if I'm prego again but try sitting on a really flufy pillow it might help out a little but not much but its the most confort I got with this pain. good luck.

I have had pain in my pelvis and tailbone in all three of my pregnancies. In some cases, it is considered Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction, or SPD. It is a combination of hormones and misalignment of the pelvis. A lot of women go through this, usually around the second trimester. For me it lasted almost my entire second pregnancy. It was horrible! There were times I didn't think I would be able to get out of bed in the morning because rolling over or changing positions seemed near impossible. It was very painful. My OB referred me to a chiropractor and it worked for me. I didn't feel 100% better but I did see a difference. Best of luck to you, hang in there!

I work in an office setting, and if I sit too long and get up, my whole back is hurting, I feel like I worked on the railroad or something! Not only that, my legs go numb, my hips hurt, and my butt feels extremely stiff! I know the feeling girlfriend, and it's not a good feeling, but once the baby is born, the pain should go away! Congrats

This is my third pregnancy and I am almost 30 weeks.. I'm not lying when I tell you that my tail bone has hurt with every one of my pregnancies.. I think I walk around with my hand firmly pressed on it all day.. it went away right after birth with my first two.. hopefully that will be the case again.. I certainly don't think it is any thing to worry about..

    Congrats and good luck.

Yes it happens lots if you had a large baby, the first time happen to me,sometime it breaks when you push them out.

I had twins and my pelvis separated too it is very pain full and I could not walk with out sharp pain, it took along time to heal along with c-section and trying to care for twins.

I am lucky I can walk now.
