Should a team with the best records have a bye week in the playoffs ?
I think we should add 2 more teams in the playoffs to make it more interesting.
If the best team is really the best team then why aren't they playing 3 playoff games like the others.
I say we seed them 1-8 , the team with the best record plays the team with the worst record, and so on.
Well, I heard they want to add a 17th reagular season game.

There are no plans to expand the field to 8. Doing so would put a full HALF of the NFL teams in the playoffs, which is definitely not a good thing when you consider the increased risk of a 7-9 team getting into the playoffs. The best teams get a bye precisely because...they are the best teams! It's the reward for coming out of the 16-game season with the best record.

Actually the league has been talking about this lately
Proposed Ideas include shortening the Preseason and adding 2 games to the Regular Season which would obviously make for better playoff races.
But in my opinion i think the post season is fine the way it is....

Playoff is fine the way it is. They do bye week so even after week 13 there still competing top competiting teams.

that means the vikes and the saints would have made it. that wouldnt be interesting to have the saints in the playoffs
