We are having?
a party tonight at a local pub. How should I introduce my bf's boss and wife? Should I say "This is Tom's boss Tim and his wife Jill?" Or is it best to say "This is Tom's friend and boss Tim and his wife Jill?" I am just curious as to how I should do it properly. We are all layed back and easy going. This isn't a formal party. Just pizza and beer. We won a party for best halloween costumes. Nothing fancy. Thanks for everyone's advice.

Perhaps just leave out the boss part at first and say I'd like to introduce Tim and Jill , Tim is Toms boss. That should work just fine with no need of mentioning their living arrangement .

If it were me, I'd introduce him the boss as my BF's boss & his wife..(say their names his first- Tim & his wife Jill, since that is how you know this couple from the boss then his wife..).... leave it at that- you'll all be friends after pizza & beer...

I'm with TMan on this one. Only a dweeb (or a suck-up brown noser) would try and do all the crazy thinking that Patty 912 is suggesting. You would sound as though you are trying to be best friends with the boss. NOT!
Listen to T. You know their names, just introduce without a bunch of B.S. No one likes that.

The boss’s name should be said first. Proper introductions have a pecking order with the person of rank, honor, or importance being mentioned first. The other person is being introduced or presented to the person of honor. Follow these three steps. One, say the name of the key person. Two, mention the name of the other person and say something about him or her. Three, come back to the key person and say something about him or her. Here is an example where the boss is Mike Williams and the spouse is Cindy Clark.
“Mike, I would like to introduce my wife, Cindy Clark. Cindy is an interior decorator. Mike Williams is our company president.”
Think of book-ending the introduction with the person of importance.
