Well naturally theft of an art object would be a crime --- "theft"
Forgery occurs when someone either copies an existing artwork and claims it is an original. Or it can be when someone creates an artwork and claims it was made by a renowned artisan.
"Ownership" and "effects on subjects" issues need more clarification.

Not really sure what you are asking, but federal agents raided many Southern CA art museums just a couple of weeks ago. Google "Bowers Museum Raid" and you should find something interesting.

are you asking for people to tell you about their knowledge of theft or forgery regarding art pieces.............
or are you looking to find ways of preventing theft of copyright.
