In the movie "The Green Berets" (1968), what does the term "mike force" refer to?

From the context of the film, I gather it's a reserve force the Americans held back during the NVA assault on their firebase, but I'd like a little further insight into what the term really refers to, and whether it's commonly used outside this movie. Thanks!

    Mike Force :

Created in 1966, Mobile Strike Forces were located in each of the four Corps Tactical Zones and a fifth, which could be deployed countrywide in the event of an emergency, was stationed at Nha Trang. Comprised of indigenous personnel led by U.S. Green Berets, the Mike Force was primarily used as a reaction unit as well as conducting ambushes and combat patrols.

I am guessing it was a QRF in that it was a reaction force that maneuvered on the enemy in response to the attack on the original position.

I never heard the term "Mike Force" used in the USMC, maybe someone with US Army or US Army Special Forces might know if it is a common term with them.

A QRF is a quick reaction force that is held in reserve and is called in when enemy presense is detected, or a defending unit has major enemy contact.
