What's with eli-madness?

Why is Eli popping up on some lists as an elite qb? He didn't make the pro-bowl. He had 23 TDs but 20 ints (tied for first). His accuracy isn't all that great, neither is his QB rating.

I know he won the Superbowl and all, but isn't this kinda ridiculous?

I can't explain why he's being compared to the elite QBs out there, but I understand why people are getting so excited about it. It's because Eli went from an NFL wannabe to a Super Bowl MVP who helped end the Pats dreams of perfection. That's why.

Most people that call themselves fans can't see past the QB. They can't truely analyze a game. Many so-called experts can't either. If a team wins, the QB must be good; they seem to think. Eli however has improved a lot over the course of the season. He seems to have matured. The return of Plaxico late in the season has helped that significantly.

I wouldn't quite call Eli an elite QB just yet. I do have to give him a lot of credit for "manning-up" in the biggest game of his life.

  • only an idiot will think the pro bowl actually matters. Pro bowl is the worst all star game where the fans pick all the players that attend it. All the eli haters didnt pick him and the all lame cowboys bandwagon fans picked all the cowboys to go the pr bowl. Even their 2nd string runner back is going there.

Well he outplayed more experenced QBs in almost every game of the post season! He proved himself this season and i think he'll come back and have a really great season and improve all of that stuff

Because people see what he is capable of and realize he will only get better. Yes, he throws alot of int's but you can still be labeled as great just ask Brett Favre- most int's in NFL history.

Eli isn't in my top10 at this point. But did you SEE that Play. the pass to Tyree....People are just a bit excited....They'll come back down to Earth.

Yes, I agree completely. It's pretty bad when you have only three less interceptions than TDs. But whatever. Giants fans will constantly keep putting him as number one or two only because he won the Super Bowl. Eli Manning didn't win the Super Bowl, his defensive line did. It wasn't that hard to see.

In the Biggest Game there is, with the most pressure you can face, losing with time running out, you lead your team to the game winning TD. I don't know.... sounds pretty good to me.

People only remember the last game. I can't figure out why he got the MVP. The Giants defense should be the MVP.
