Harry Potter BOOKS: Dursleys Trivia question - hair colors?

Mr. Dursley: "...Uncle Vernon's thick, dark, neatly parted hair."

--- Goblet of Fire page 34 2nd paragraph

Mrs. Dursley: Blond "Horse-faced and bony"

--- Sorceror's Stone page 1 2nd paragraph

Dudley: "Dudley was blond, pink, and porky."

---Chamber of Secrets page 4 2nd paragraph

I know for a fact Dudley is blonde. No doubt in my mind I'll do a quick check on the others.

"Vernon is a large, beefy man with very little neck and a bushy black mustache" I'd say that makes it safe to assume his hair is brown.

This means Petunia must be the blonde in the family. The movies have it confused ( i think.. )

Dudley and Petunia both have blonde hair. i cant find the example (flipping through books now) but i remember at some point them describing a picture of the dursley family when dudley was young, and its description of him was "a blonde beachball" . for whatever reason they changed the colour of their hair in the movies.

First book, chapter one, page 1, second paragraph, third sentence:

Mrs Dursley was thin and blonde...

First book, chapter three, first page, first paragraph, fourth sentence:

Dudley ... blonde boy ...

Second book, chapter one, fourth page, second paragraph, second sentence:

Uncle Vernon ... enormous black mustache ...

I read/got the impression that he had black hair (the opposite of the movies). Will keep checking.

i'm sorry i can't give you the exact page numbers but they are mentioned for sure in the 1st chapter of HPSS.

dudley is a blonde

petunia is a blonde?(or has light brown hair)

vernon has dark brown hair.

Dudley had blonde hair.
