Do parents annoy you sometimes?!?
I mean I get annoyed real easy! I'm just in my room in the dark on the computer, and my dad comes in and turns the light on! He says I can't stay in a dark house at night. I'M 19!!!!! HE said once he thinks I'm plotting dangerous thoughts!! This could be why I NEVER want to be a FATHER!! I have to deal with this all night, every night!!
Do parents really annoy you sometimes like this?!?! Go ahead, and give your thoughts.

Doesn't seem like a very annoying thing to me, but as I've said here about 1000 times, once you are still living at home after 18, nothing good can come from that at all, it's an unnatural living arrangement that causes resentment on different levels and going in both directions. Get yourself organized and move out.

Let an old lady interject something here.
Your dad was probably raised the same way I was. It was considered bad for your eyes to sit in front of a TV (yeah, no computers) with no lights on in the room. The idea carried over to computer screens. The theory was that it ruined your vision. No self-respecting parent wanted to be responsible for their children going blind!
He is probably still holding on this idea, just as I am guilty of. The 'sinister plot' stuff is just being caddy. Lighten up on old dad. He is the one who pays the electirc bill. I wish my kids would turn off more lights! It would be a nice change!

This is just something you'll have to deal with until you move out. But it really is bad to be looking at the computer in the dark. It will screw up your eyes. As far as having grandkids, all parents talk about that. You'll understand should you decide to have kids. And not all fathers are that paranoid. If you decide to not have kids, tell each girl that on the first or second date.

When i lived at home i never had a computer or anything so my solas would be in my music and i would sit in the dark and listen to it then my mum would come in and tun=rn the light on and tell me not to sit in a dark room coz it was stupid.

Parent here--part of the job, sorry. We annoy you, we worry about you, we love you. It's what we do. He was probably worried about you and needed an excuse to check on you. BTW my parents still annoy me LOL

Yeah I get annoyed very easily too, but more since I've been a teenager. I guess it's just a phase -- hopefully it should blow over soon.
