I have the game--It's my favorite Wii game! Definitely the most physically challenging by far, great aerobic workout, it will make you sweat!

The critics haven't given this game the greatest reviews--but it's been sold out in almost every store around here and is incredibly popular!

There are 4 different levels for each song, from "easy" to "expert" so you can work up to the more challenging levels. To be perfectly honest, although I've been playing it for a number of months now, I still haven't been able to master most of the more challenging songs on the "expert" level, although I am able to do them on "difficult".

Here's a link to the demo on "youtube" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li8e6hpc1n8

The beginning of the demo is "easy", and then shows both 2 player and 4 player modes on the more challenging levels. Here's a link showing one of the more challenging songs "Everybody Dance Now: -- I can dance this song at this level: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hRZQ9eZUaw&feature...

It may look almost impossible to follow those arrows, but strangely enough, with a little practice, it's very "doable"!

The "easy" and "basic" levels are not bad at all. The "difficult" level is very attainable for most songs, but the "expert" level is pure insanity!

The sound track is fairly decent, with well-known "pop" songs spanning several decades, although most aren't covered by the original artists and I think I would have preferred had they not felt the need to "speed up" the tempo of a couple of the songs such as "Everyone Dance Now", and worst of all, "Karma Chameleon". Other songs tracts though are fairly good, such as "Blue Monday", "Clocks", "Lips of an Angel", Nickelback's "Far Away", and "Disco Inferno".

If you find you like "DDR: Hottest Party", then to add some variety, I recommend also going to a Gamestop store and seeing if you can find a used copy of an old gamecube game called "McGroovz: Dance Craze". It is very similar to DDR, can be played on your Wii using your DDR dancemat, and also has some fairly decent songs covered by the original artists, such as Jessica Simpson's "Irresistable" and Katrina and the Waves "Walking on Sunshine". Best of all, I picked up a used copy from Gamestop for only $9.95! Although you can play it with the ascending arrows the same way you play DDR, it also has a "spin" option which adds a unique twist to it, incorporating 8 arrow moves instead of the standard 4.

Update: Edited this post because I switched around the dance levels, which correctly progress from: easy, basic, difficult, to expert.

And I just played both DDR and McGroovz this morning and have to admit, I kind of prefer the McGroovz game. They both play pretty much the same way, but with McGroovz, the dance steps form more logical patterns that seem to fit the music better, making it easier to follow. I also prefer the original versions of the songs, as performed by the original artists. Additional songs on the Gamecube McGroovz game are: The original "Lady Marmalade", performed by Patti Labelle, Kevin Lyttle's "Turn Me On", Jewel's "Intuition", Peaches and Herb's "Shake Your Groove Thing", The Emotions "Best of my Love", KC and the Sunshine Band, "That's the Way (I like it)", Mike Doughty "Ossining", Whodini "Freaks Come Out at Night", and Will Smith singing as the Fresh Prince to "Parents just don't Understand".

It's no longer produced but well worth spending a little time looking for a used copy at Gamestop or other stores that sell used video games.

I'm guessing you're referring to the Hottest Party game. It is a good game and kinda fun, keeps you active. The excitement does wear off, however, because the songlist is limited, all techno like and covered versions and I don't believe there are ways to download new songs yet nor do I know whether the game will ever have that capability. I suppose I'm spoiled by PS3 and Rock Band weekly downloads for new content.

Overall the game is good if your playing with friends.

The solo mode can get repetitive at times.

The song list is limited sometimes, and certain songs shouldnt be in the game at all.

I own the game and love to play with my friends, it really depends on your personal preference. If you have ever played and liked any of the other DDR games, you will like this one.

I also have the game, they songs are a little weird, but there are alot of them, and it's fun, it's kind of hard, but you can't really get bored of it! It's also great for friends when they come over! I would buy it, it's tons of fun!
