I actually like both. I am both XP and Vista user.

Those who say vista sucks are those who know nothing about computers.

There is nothing wrong with Vista like others claim besides memory management. Guess what its the same as every other OS that first comes out. Move on because sooner or later XP will be a thing of the past (for me I have forgotten all about XP already). People need to quit complaining Vista has no support, that is the manufactures fault for not giving Microsoft proper drivers and updates. Microsoft has built a pretty stable and new OS that looks good, functions well and does very well on security for the average person.

There are several things you can tweak if you dont want it on so thats nothing to complain about. If you think Vista is THAT bad, lets look at when XP first came out...how many people were saying OMG20004TW? Instead of crying about the problems to each other and MS Vista bashing, why not actually report your problems to MS so that they can fix problems you have experienced.

    the memory problem.....

if you did some research, you would know that the extra memory being used is for "superfetch," which preloads memory for programs according to your usuage patterns, so that they will load faster (and it works). Ram is different form hard drives. You can fill it up without any slowness. Once the usuage gets to about 80-50% however, then you have a problem.

    The incompatibility problem...

Yes, millions of programs out there weren't compatible with vista when it came out. now look.... lots of software and hardware manufacturers made new updates to their drivers/ software/ etc. so that its compatible with vista. So far, I had absolutely NO incompatiblity problems.

I heard stories who hated vista because of compatibiliy issues. They were complaining that vista wasnt compatible with their fax/ scanner, and within a month, they noticed a little update message at their manufacturer's website that they made vista drivers... now.. you still think vista is incompatible?

    The BSOD/ crash problem....

So far, I absolutely had NO BSODs, crashes, or any thing bad to my computer. The reason why ppl get BSODs and crashes is probably they are forcing the computer to install old drivers, recieved a virus, etc. If you KNOW how to TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR COMPUTER, then you will NOT get any of these. You just install unstable/ old/ beta drivers.... Now you blame it on vista?

    The User Account control problem....

Seriously, if you hate it so much, theres a way to turn it OFF.

    The "slow vista" problem...

Dude... what kind of junky hardware are you using? Screw old technology because its not going to work in vista at high speeds!!!!

For those of you who say "Vista sucks! Theres millions of problems and bugs in vista!!!!"

My response: can you list all the bugs and problems in vista? I dont think so other than memory management.

Trust me, don't listen to the people who don't know what theyre are talking about.\

If you actually read this, I AM NOT SAYING VISTA IS BETTER. To be honest, i think they're pretty much the same.

Windows vista, XP is good but the reason why people say Vista is rubbish, is probably because they have it on there current PC that used to run Vista, this is probably going to run slow.

Vista on a new computer runs excellent, and user friendly.

Windows XP was good for capability, this is where vista struggles here. luckily I don't have much hardware as I'm more into gaming.

What I do hate about Vista is the annoying "Windows needs your permission" prompts... etc...

I think I still prefer XP. I've had a shocking amount of bugs in Vista, and I hate the new folder navigation system they have. The new security features are nice, and installing new hardware seems much better than on Vista, but on a day to day usage basis, I'd prefer to go back to XP. To spend so much money on something that really doesn't push the boundaries at all, and often seems to go backwards, is pretty bad news for Microsoft at a time when their competitors are tearing chunks out of their market share.

I prefer Windows XP because its been around forever and a day. I know the inside and outs of it and really don't feel that Vista could be any better. I don't want to have to learn everything of a new system all over again.

Vista is good for people that are novice PC users. It uses up way to much system resources in order to try and make it user friendly.

If you want performance than XP Pro 64x is the way to go.

I think in a few years people will compare Vista to the Microsoft's ME blunder.

    IMHO

Vista, just like when you first started on 95, 98, then XP it takes time in getting used to it.

I have Vista in my laptop and XP in my Desktop.

You know what I like Vista more.

And I'm just finished building another system AMD X2 6400+ with 500gig of HDD and 4 Gig of Ram, and NVidia 8600gt, guess what OS I'm going to install. With this setup, you need Vista.

I prefer XP, as at present it just seems more reliable, and some things annoy me about Vista. I like them both though.

I LOVE vista. My laptop is vista but my main computer is is XP. Vista is so much easier and with regard to system restore, my laptop automatically backs up my files every month. Its great.

Vista is only faster because it come standard now with better computers, if you install xp on a vista Computer, then get a vista theme for xp it will be better

vista it has so much more benefits like it checks every file before downloading it and its fresher looking than xp, vista is a self-correcting system that makes sure your protected against viruses so your better off with vista or wait a little while cause there is a new vista version coming out soon
