Reasons a 14-15 year old boy should have a cell phone?

Hmm, well ive been telling my parents that all my friends have one and that i'd really like to keep in touch with them all the time

(lol, so they're getting me one when my grades go up)

oh! but if you have good grades then you could mention that while you're trying to convince your parents.. because all parents love when their kids are getting good grades =D (if you arent getting good grades then just say you're doing way better in school)

hmmm...

you could also say that it'll help if you're away from home and you need to call your parents for help (try making it sound like it'll be a good thing for your parents as well.. because.. it will be. lol) ya know, like emergencies!

some more reasons why cellphones are good for you at this age:

-if you have to stay longer after school (for whatever reason) then you could just call your parents right there so they wont worry and it'll save time.

-if you're waiting and theres nothing to do around you, you can just call someone or play games on the cellphone

-if your parents are using the home phone then you can call friends and stuff & not have to wait for them

-umm.. most cellphones have calculators & clocks, therefore your parents wont have to buy you them (even though you wont be able to use it in school.. eheh..)

-some store music & also take pics! so you'd be able to save a time in your life at any moment, lol

-it gives you privacy to talk to your friends, tell your parents its really important to have privacy like that at this age, just promise/reassure them that you're a good kid and wont use the privacy for anything dangerous

..and yeah. cant think of any more reasons, but if i do then ill edit this & write em! =)

oh, and.. if you're comfortable telling them this. if you get or have a girlfriend then you'd also want to be able to talk to her at any time

-also if your friends are in trouble you could know right away! or if they're just feeling down you could be there for them to talk to

okay, well guess what parents? a family phone isnt enough! lol

like i said, you could reach people at any time without having to bug someone else for their phone, and if there is no phone around and you're in trouble, then the cellphone will help so much

and yeah, if your parents are on the home phone and you need to reach someone, then... cellphone!

if your birthday's coming up then you could ask that all you want is a cellphone and you dont mind if its the only thing you get for your b-day

I got my kids cell phones when they turned 13. It has been helpful to me because sometimes they have practices or travel with school and they can call me when they are ready and I don't have to sit outside the school for half an hour waiting on them. It does seem like everyone has them, but if you can't afford it then you can't afford it. When my daughter first turned 13 she and I both had tracfones. I thought they worked great, but you really only use them when absolutely necessary. She hated it and hardly ever used her phone. If cost is an issue then I would just tell your son that he can get a cell phone when he gets a job and can afford to pay for it. If your husband has one you might look into adding a line. The plan we have now allows you to add an extra line for on $9.99 per month. No one owes their kids a cell phone. It is a luxury item and in this economy not everyone can afford them.

tell them cus i said so! tell them that if you cant have a cellphone to talk..i mean text (at our age who the hell talks)..then your just gona go on yahoo and talk to strangers
