African Grey Paralized for no reason?!!! Help?
Our African Grey has been paralyzed since Friday and that has been 4 days in total. We took her to a vet and he said it was her liver, gave her an injection and that was it, she is still the same. Any suggestions? Anyone with a similar experience?
The vet gave it an injection and my folks decided to take it to another vet - who in return said today that they have no clue what it is ...frustrating news....
More developments - apparently it could be tapeworm or too much Calcium or D3....any one out there have any real experiences with this???

I suggest another vet. A competent AVIAN vet. I am not saying that it isn't the liver that is the root of the issue but what was the shot supposed to do? What was it and what were you told to expect and what was the long term prognosis. Did this vet give you any indication on how the liver was causing paralysis?
Sorry for the questions.

Contact the vet who you first saw, let him know the problem is still persisting. He should be explaining to you what your options are. I'm sure there was more info than just, "it's the liver, now leave". If the vet really isn't explaining things to you, please do get a second opinion.
Hope he gets better!!!!!!
