How can I move music from Windows media player to my music folder or a folder on my desktop?

I have looked all around and I haven't been successful at selecting a playlist to save as to a different location.

I'm not entirely certain what you're trying to do, but if your music is in your library in Windows Media Player, then by default it is also in you My Music folder. If you want to move the music somewhere else, open your My Music folder. You can either cut and paste your music to whatever new location you want it or drag and drop it. Simple as that. If you're trying to make a playlist, all you do it drag all the tracks you want to the right hand pane of Windows Media Player and then name and save your playlist. The playlist should then appear in your My Music folder and your Windows Media Player. I don't know if you can really save playlist files in different places as they are linked solely to Windows Media Player and I don't know if they open with any other program.
