Who will be NYY 1st baseman?

well yankees arent quite sure on whos goin to be the starting 1st basemen of the team. but they do have alot of possibilities. the have Shelley Duncan, Jason Giambi, Wilson Betinit, Morgan Ensburg, Jason Lane, Hideki Matsui (supposedly), Johnny Damon, and im pretty sure a little of posada. so no one knows yet.

There most likely will not be any stable everyday first basemen. The possibilities are Shelley Duncan, Jason Giambi, Wilson Betemit, Juan Miranda, or even Jorge Posada on some days. Morgan Ensberg and Jason Lane were signed to Minor League contracts, but still very good possibilites. Maybe Johnny Damon to let others take the DH spot besides Giambi. My bet is that Duncan starts on opening day, but we have to wait and see.

78...C and 1B is a little weak but other than that you have a solid overall offense. Zambrano is a lights out pitcher and will get more wins with the Cubs this year. Same for Kazmir because he is an amazing young talent. Rivera and Cordero are solid closers that will get you at least 30 saves, 60 K's...Smoltz and Weaver had great years last year and Weaver should be even better playing a full year. Your bench for pitching is really good. I would consider starting Hamels over Smoltz or Fuentes over Cordero. Secondly, I would do that trade because Holliday can get any stats and is on a better team and has a better average. Lastly, I wouldnt go for Howard because that manager is going to want a lot for him and that will just disrupt the balance of your team.

That position will have a lot questions . The possibilities Shelley Duncan i think will someday first baseman , Jason Giambi will play but mostly DH, Wilson Betemit is going to be a back up, maybe like last year Jorge Posada when they play inter league games or like one game i remember Damon was there only because the Yankees were desperate

Giambi can't hold up the whole year so Duncan is the back-up as of now. Don't be surprised to see someone else trying to learn the position in spring training if the Yanks don't sign an experienced 1B.

I say Shely Duncan will be starter on opening day. Even though Giambi is the most seasoned, Shely is up and coming. You might also see Jorge andaybe some Hideki this year playing first.

Well, their really isn't a primary first basemen. The people who will see time at first base are Jason Giambi, Shelley Duncan, and Wilson Betemit. Giambi will DH along with Matsui, and when Matsui DH's I'm assuming Giambi, and his not so stellar defense, will man 1st. Otherwise, when Giambi DH's Shelley Duncan and Wilson Betemit will contend for the role of 1st base. Odds are, Shelley Duncan earns the opening day nod at first.

Shelly Duncan for defense and Jason "Giambino" Giambi for offense. Could Jasons head be any bigger... :)

I hope Duncan...he is an exciting player and Giambi is almost at the end I think!!!
