Unfortunately, in the US, yes. Because the American people are backsliding toward the Dark Ages.

Sure is most typical , and until it's a goverment not of skull and crossbones does it really matter? Although I think a female should be given a chance hell earth is going to hell in a handbasket anyway might as well give it to her now that way we can blame her thru-out eternity as we did thru-out this existance for the apple, bur really had we had women in charge from the get go of man we'd be in a much better state of affairs, is too little to late :( unless we all can come together someway somehow now obama seems to be the preacher in that regard so if the republicans don't steal it somehow again by throwing out votes, it should all go like this. Obama *Pres Hil Vp Obama assasinated sadly and hil Pres so first time ever both happen black male and a white female both pres in same year crazy huh. Or like I'm feeling McCain will steel it somehow, cuz u know it all started with Cain and Abel and in this McDonald fast food society would be kinda humorous irony to end with McCain. But Hil's most exp she ran everything while billy boy was getting blown!Anyway so as far as I'm concerned she cares and knows enough to get us out of this mess. God Bless

The person's sex does not make any difference to me, but his/her religious beliefs make all the difference in the world to me. I would never vote for a man or woman who confused homophobia with morality. A homophobic person is a danger to society and would not be the type of President I would want leading my country.

My religious beliefs is my life, it is not just something to throw on on Sunday. Those beliefs are what is best for the nation. My starting point is that I will never vote for someone that approves of the murder of an innocent babies by abortion and I go by my values before getting rich.

Certainly..... let's see if a Muslim fundamentalist has any chance to get a 1000 votes if any. The same goes for an openly confessed atheist. As for the latter - no matter how high his/her moral, ethical standards are which may be far surpassing those of others, they won't make it past round one. People don't vote for high standards - they vote for their own however corrupt or bigoted the contenders are.

It certianly may for some. But the argument that the reason Obama is fairing better than Hilliary, at this point, is unlikely do to her sex but to her views on issues and the disllike by many of having a repeat of the Clinton years.

Sometimes it's just voting for the lesser of two evils. In practicality the issues are not clearly cut down the line, but hence I don't see how they could be (that is, the candidates and how they pick them).

I notice that this is prevelent in the majority of people, but not all. Some are open-minded enough to choose based on a candidates political campaign.

It seems to me that most people will vote for a personality rather than policy.
