I would like weight loss program designed for overweight children that's not $6,000 a month. Live Syr. NY.
I have located many programs but none of them were in a price range that wasn't under 4,000 a month nor was it in the upstate New York area. My son isn't that old (12) and he is shy and it would be easier to lose weight with people his own weight and age. I noticed many programs but they had horny kids that seems not really ready to lose weight. I seen the program on MTV.

Aren't spammers just delightful? Mr Navy seal website spammer is a pain.
The reality of weight loss is that the only way it really works is to make permanent lifestyle changes. Kids become overweight from a combination of bad diet and not enough exercise, just like adults.
Sending your kid off to a program doesn't solve the core issues which lie with the entire family, your household habits and diet. No I'm not trying to be judgemental. I'm a fitness and nutrition nut and still have one child who has fought her weight since 8 so I completely understand the frustration and feelings of failure that can arise.
Your best value for the dollar is going to be a combination of local professionals, and perhaps a behavior modification program. Expect your family to be participants. Be sure that educating the family is part of the program.
#1 a local nutritionist.
#2 consider a gym membership and start out with a trainer to gain momentum and learn how to work out in a healthy manner.
#3 a family counselor/therapist to both discuss emotional issues that lead to overeating and to help implement and design a behavioral modification program that encourages good habits and discourages bad ones.
Some stuff you can do now:
1. Be prepared to change everyone's meals. Incorporate a lot of vegetables. Remove all sodas and sweetened drinks from the home and banish them in restaurants. Even artificially sweetened drinks can cause weight gain and they are full of bad chemicals anyway. WATER is the drink your body needs. I bought a pur filter for my sink that helps the water taste better without the expense and waste of bottled water (though bottles may help get your kids to drink more water), and the filter has a flavor dispenser. This can help get kids used to sweet stuff to drink more water. Other important changes include switching to whole grains and limiting or removing "white" carbs like breads, pastas and rice. There are good tasting whole grain versions out there.
2. Clear the house of bad snacks. Truthfully even the slim members of the family don't need to be eating such unhealthy things often. An occasional sweet is okay.
3. Start planning family fun that includes movement. Dropping off a kid at the gym or football league is okay but not the same as teaching a love of activity. ANYTHING is fine and do it without complaint. This can be a day at an amusement park (minus the junk food), going to the beach, riding bikes, hiking, kayaking, or even a game of basketball in the driveway.
4. Limit screen time to an hour a day. TV, computer, video game consoles all keep a kid on their behind and not moving. You can create a reward system that allows for more time to be earned IF other desired behaviors are accomplished, ie. walk the dog for a half hour could equal a half hour of screen time. As to video games, at 14 it is hard to shift preferences, but there are now WII games that encourage some movement.
5. No picking on your son. He is who he is and still very much your loveable son. Don't forget that.
6. Find a sport he can love and make him stick to it long enough to make it work. A lot of parents let their kids weasel out too soon. It IS harder for an overweight kid at first but soon he'll build stamina and keep up just fine. Karate and swimming are excellent.
7. If they are out on video, rent the series "Honey we're Killing the Kids" - its on TLC and its a great series. They shift a whole family's habits in 3 weeks (maybe you can apply?) Yeah, the kids complain at first, but all seem happy 3 weeks in.
Just being "normal" will help a lot. That's one reason a major family shift helps all in the family. He's still growing and if he can develop good habits now, teen growth will help him thin out.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

navy seals use CrossFit Equipment
CrossFit is a high-intensity fitness regimen, geared toward those who wish to achieve the highest level of fitness possible. Much of the equipment used in CrossFit is suitable for a home gym, such as the AbMat, Jump Ropes, Elite Rings, TRX and The Door Gym. Learn more about CrossFit by visiting US Tactical CrossFit
The Door Gym
Pull-Ups are a staple in CrossFit workouts, and have been a long time component of the Navy SEAL training regimen. They work multiple muscles of the upper body, and are unparralleled in developing functional strength of the arms and back.
Suspension Training with Elite Rings or the TRX Force Training Kit
Suspension training requires a great deal of effort, when compared to standard exercises performed on fixed equipment. When doing a pushup for example, your surrounding muscles and core must work harder to keep you arms from moving forward, backward or from side to side. Common exercises performed with suspension training equipment are pushups, pullups, dips, and muscle ups.
AbMat
The shape of the abmat conforms perfectly to the curvature of the lower back. This results in a greater range of motion, with a reduction in the liklihood of injury to the lower back. Standard sit-ups primarily work the hip flexors and lower abs, whereas AbMat situps done with the knees spaced apart, evenly work the entire abdominal region.
