I own 3 DELL Notebook PCs and based on Lessons Learned experience in replacing my 1st Notebook Battery, here are a few Lessons Learned Tips I can share with you: (i) keep your original old battery even once you buy your new Lithium battery bec this will allow you to maximize the longevity of your new laptop battery by using the old original battery when you are hooked up to AC outlet and saving your new battery when you use your Notebook PC outside...of course, you do want to recharge your new one to 100% but if you aren't going to use it again soon, switching and running on the old original will more or less allow you to have two laptop batteries for some unknown time. (ii) Buy only the original genuine manufacturer battery and if possible buy the stronger 9 cell higher wattage over the 6 cell. Yes EBAY is an excellent place but first go to the DELL Web site and write down all the interchangeable DELL PART NUMBERS so you can maximum number of available genuine parts, then you must be patient knowing what the Buy It Now price is from a trustworthy EBAY Seller and be patient. Actually in the case of batteries I stay away from Chinese made compatibles who don't identify battery as DELL GENUINE by using closest distance sort bec I once made the horrible mistake of buying a supposely compatible notebook PC battery (shown in the TIGER DIRECT catalog <= don't buy from them either) manufactured in China and guess what, it did NOT WORK and would not recharge but luckily I had inquired about refund procedures PRIOR to purchase and then even had to send screenshots of the 0% recharging to prove my case.
Hope the Info Helps and Best of Luck!
