GPA above 4.0 weighted, and SAT above 2000 will get you into most colleges. You can increase your score greatly if you do some preparation. From my experience, the best preparation books were the princeton review guide, and the tutorfox new sat guide. Used together, I increased my SAT score by about 200 points. Good luck, and please let me know if you have any more questions.

A GPA of 3.5 is optimal, anything over that is bonus. An SAT score of 1600 (out of 2400) is good and again anything over that is bonus.

However, don't believe that your GPA and SATs/ACTs are the only things that colleges look at when going through applications. They consider things like awards/achievements (ex. Eagle Scout, Gold Award, ect), class rank, rigor of your high school transcript, volunteer work, interest in their establishment and in some cases things like geographical residence so just having a good GPA and a good SAT score won't get you into colleges alone. Also be aware that most of the top colleges also require the SAT Subject Tests and many require essay(s) and/or an interview. If the school doesn't require the SATSTs then they use them for things like financial aid or placement in college classes.

To get into a decent (not the BEST, but decent) school, a good GPA would be at least a 3.0

A decent SAT score would probably be at least 1100

    Good luck:-)
