How do i fight false child neglect allegations with CPS in the state of Texas?
I was wrongly accused (all hearsay) of neglect on my kids and CPS has been to my house to discuss. All accusations are false yet they still put me on a "safety plan." Does this ever go away? How do i fight it?

Lots of people get reported usually by ex friends, family neighbours. They are used to these kind of accusations and know many are made by malicious people.
If there is no cause for concern do not panic, as long as your a good parent to your children they will see the allegation is malicious and move on to the next case.
Care for the kids properly and it will go away, as long as your parenting skills are fine.
It will go away if there is no neglect, its natural to feel angry and scared by this but they are only looking out for the welfare of your kids, its not a witch hunt.

Cps probably put you on a "safety plan" so they could watch and see if you really do neglect your kids. If they feel that they have found some evidence that will hold up in court, they will probably haul you in front of a judge.
Don't despair if this happens. I had a Neglect charge, but it was dropped in court. A lot of mistakes in assessments get made, and Family Court judges know it.
CPS records never go away, but unless they put your name in the Registry of Abuse and Neglect, it won't affect the rest of your life. Usually only the more serious cases go on a Registry, but you might want to check with an attorney and make sure that your name isn't there.

Even being mentioned in a CPS report is bad. It can show up on background checks and if you ever apply for a public job you are screwed.
Hire a lawyer. Fight it tooth and nail, and do not talk to anyone from CPS voluntarily w/o representation, you can run the risk of incriminating yourself, and then they will also call the police.

Why fight it? If anything...having CPS come out and put you on a plan is a safety net for you. That way, if someone else decides to file more allegations against you...you have CPS on your side.
