Do you agree with the Miami Dolphin's decision to release Zach Thomas?

Today news came out that Miami released Zach Thomas their star veteran middle-linebacker. Do you agree with this move? And what do you think will happen to Zach Thomas now?

It kills me to see Zach get cut...he's the last player who deserves to be let go. This guy has gave his heart, body to this franchise! 1 of the class acts in the NFL, and i dont think ive met a nicer NFL player in my life.

Zach was no bitter when he was told of the release..his response " I will always be a Miami Dolphin in my heart"...

How do u not feel for this guy?

I hope Zach goes to a team and wins a superbowl, because to me he deserves it more then most. He's fought the critics since he was drafted and proved them all wrong...once again i hope he proves Bill Parcells wrong and makes the Pro-Bowl and leads the NFL in tackles!

    Good luck Zach !

No! If they are looking to cut salaries cut the 20 million dollar man, Joey Porter. The comments that Thomas is too old don't float. He's 34. Porter is 31 and so far they're keeping him. What big dollar players do they still have besides Jason Taylor, Ronnie Brown and Joey Porter? They dumped most of the wide receivers, Ricky Williams is set to make the league minimum, ~$750K. Thomas had one more year on his contract. They should have gotten whatever they could for Joey Porter, keep Thomas and wait to see how things play out next season. The Dolphins have problems filling seats as it is. Getting rid of a fan favorite like Zack is only going to make it worse. The downward spiral continues....

Best of Luck Zack! I'd love to see him winning a Super bowl with whomever he ends up with.

    Dear Mr. Hawk,

I'm a Redskins fan. But even me an NFC guy has much respect for what Zach Thomas has meant to the Dolphins organization. i understand their youth movement but the guy can still play and i think could have provided a lot of Veteran leadership (and as he said: He's always a Dolphin in his heart)... it would have been great to see him end his career there and maybe move into a coaching role. i hope where-ever he lands he gets a chance to win a ring because he is a class guy.

He reminds me of Mike Singletary, a smurf carrying a big gun at middle linebacker. He will certainly be hailed as one of the best. The Dolphins need to free up cap room in order to rebuild. I'm sure Zach does not have an issue with the decision. He is a player and knows that he will be picked up by another team that will pay him if he chooses to continue to play in the NFL. I'm sure he knows the inevitable(retirement) is creeping in.

I like it cause if I ever play the dolphins I don't have to worry about him picking off one of my passes lol.

But as for an organizational move, I think it's stupid. Parcells is dumping a lot of experience and skill. Thomas is a very good middle-linebacker and I think hes still got a lot left in his tank. Rebuilding is one thing but you still need veteran leadership and Thomas brings that.

He'll probably play next year..wouldn't be shocked to see him in Tampa or Indy, they both employ smaller defensive players.

A team in the straits the Phish find themselves in needs to do desperate things. Zach Thomas is the first of their aging defense to be cut, and he won't be the last. All things considered, I suppose they deserved to be good at some point, but that team has been poorly built since the Wanny age, and the only way to fix it now is to blow it up and start from scratch. A team cannot succeed when its offense and defense are out of synch age-wise. I can't believe I'm saying this, but...good luck. It's no fun sweeping you guys if you don't even put up a fight....

I agree, he's getting old and injured a lot it seems. The Dolphins are in the rebuilding step, so I expect most of their Vets to be cut(look at what happened to Green and Booker too).

I'll admit he's a great player. But the Dolphins are trying cut down on the salary and rebuilding for the future.

Give him a few years and you Dolphins fans will be thanking Parcells for every decision he's going to make or has made.

no matter how old or bad you guys think he is the fact si that we do need him

our team is gonna consist of soo many rookies nest year and a strogn veteran like thomas is a valuable asset

sure we have taylor but i have a feeling he is going to be traded somewhere as well

and that leaves us with joey porter.. not the best choice for a role model.

i do trust parcells he knows what it takes to turn a franchise around so i just hope it works for the best.

as for me i dont agree with the decision to release thomas.

I like zach thomas, hes a good player who doesn't get enough respect, but I think his time has come, he's starting to get concussions and I think he's better off calling it quits.
