Is there any VALID REASON why it takes 3 or 4 days to do electronic bill payments from a bank ?
Insofar as electronic communications can be consummated faster than you can type, I wonder why my bank takes so long to send funds to pay my utility bills ?
It really is not any faster than using snail mail ! WHY ?

I asked my bank this question and the answer is...because your banks is processing them just like snail mail. They are electronically writing the check for you and then Snail mailing it to the utility company. That is why it takes so long. So if you want to have the utilities deduct them automatically call them directly or pay them through their websites online if that option is available.
