Has anyone read the Nacy Drew book, "The secret of the old clock"?
Has anyone read the Nacy Drew book, "The secret of the old clock" I need to help my daughter with a report on it. Can someone give me a summary of the book and how it ends. Thank you.
She did read the book, and she is doing her report by herself. I would just like to answer questions intelligently for her if she has question. I am only trying to be there if she has questions. I have taught her to do her own homework and she does it very well. She is in the top 2% of her class. And she got there by HERSELF. You do not know anything about me and what I do. If you do not have an answer, keep your unwarrented critcism to yourself. Thank you.

Shouldn't she be doing her own homework? That's a really easy book. She shouldn't have trouble reading and understanding it.
If she absoulty can't read it, then go to a site like sparknotes.com and look it up.

I read the book when I was a little girl. I am worried about what you are teaching your child. Shouldn't you encourage her to read the book and do her own homework? Showing her how to cheat will do nothing to promote a love of learning.
(Sorry, as a former teacher, I find this terribly sad. Children will find ways around the system without help from their parents. Your participation only reinforces the idea that cheating is acceptable.)

Oh my gosh...I read it about thirty years ago, so I'm sorry, but I don't remember enough to help.
I do know, though, that it is a very short book, and you could probably read it yourself in about an hour.
She's not going to learn how to read and understand books if you don't let her know that she needs to do the reading herself and write her report herself. Your participation shouldn't go beyond maybe letting her bounce some ideas off of you. You shouldn't be GIVING her ideas or actively helping her write the report.

Here's an idea: Let your daughter read the book and write her own report. Her teacher will appreciate it and your daughter might learn something.
