why do I feel nauseated after I exercise?

more times than not, when I get off the treadmill I feel like throwing up. Is there something I can do to prevent this or could I be doing something to cause it?

It happens to alot of people actually. Try not to drink so much water during and after you get off of the treadmill. It's a natural motion sickness that occurs when you abruptly stop working out & moving.

The most common reason for becoming nauseated when exercising is dehydration. You really need to take a look at your daily water consumption. Ideal amount for the average person is a gallon a day. I'm not talking soda pop, juice, sugary drinks, milk, etc.....I'm talking pure water!

Try drinking at least 12 ozs. of water a half hour before the next time you use the treadmill. Have a 12 or 16 oz bottle of water with you as you're using the treadmill and take sips during your walk/run.

    Hope this helps.

Well, you might have eaten too much or too little. Your body needs energy to work out and food is the energy it uses. However, unsettled food will cause a stomach ache.

Also, if you drink too much water or too little water. You have to be careful and choose the right amount of these two things. I would say a small breakfast or snack 1 to 2 hours before pumping that iron and 20-40 ounces of water 1 to 2 hours before.

Personally, I drink water all day long before, during and after my workouts...that's just me. Test your body find what works for you.

    Good luck.

Drink more water a couple of hours before you exercise. The nausea is from increased endorphin levels in the brain. Try warming up and cooling down for a little longer to avoid the endorphin overload and withdrawal from abruptly ending exercise.

When this happens to me its because I was simply trying too hard. If you get this feeling after only a few minutes on the treadmill you're probably overexerting yourself. Slow it down a bit and build up your condition and slowly increase the speed/incline.

    worked for me!

Drink lots of water and take a couple breaks if you exercise for a long time.

I get really light headed and sick if I don't drink some water while I exercise.

you could be getting dehydrated. Try drinking some water while on the treadmill. Just not to much or you'll get cramps.

Dont eat within 2 hrs before you work out, if that's not it, try taking some energy/ protein shake before the workout and drink plenty of water.

maybe dehydration? Sometimes it's from doing too much, too fast. Keeping a very regular routine might help that. it'd be easier to do a little every day instead of doing a whole lot in an irregular pattern. be careful not to push yourself too much. hope that helps!
