what does it take to become a top contributor?

Choose a category that you have knowledge in and answer to the best of your ability. You need to get at least 10% Best Answers in a category. You can choose 2 or 3 categories but you must maintain your percentage. It is evaluated once a week, Mondays so try to get at least 200 best in a month. No one actually knows how it works. Mine was a surprise to me. Good luck and give it your best.

Basically by having no life ;-)

It happened to me when I joined forces with others to help run off a troll. Next thing I knew, I was spending all my time at Alt Med helping people with their health. I got addicted, and a lot of best answers, then a badge.

Find something you know about, and spend your time in that category sharing your knowledge with others. The more you answer, the more likely it is to happen. But, from what I understand it is not an exact science the way TC's are chosen. I was suprised when I ended up with an addition TC in Infectious Diseases for a day or two. Don't really know how that happened.

I agree with the others just go to a place where you know alot about and answer and get lots of best answers and you;ll have it,i was ill for 2 weeks and when i ca,e back i had my badge and wow what a great surprise,,you;ll get there too just keep answering questions...

It's too hard to handle. It's best if you just let it be.

You need to maintain a good average of best answers, around 10%+, and that's how you earn it. But only in one catergory. But you can have others too if you want. It's hard. I suggest you don't do it. The worst part is you worked so hard for it, and sometimes It goes away! :(

wow well done for being close to level four. i am only on level 2 but as far as i know you answer questions, ask questions, pick best answers. the more that you ask and answer the more points i guess...

it all depends on how many questions you have answers vs. the percentage of how many of them are best answers.. the levels have nothing to do with it..
