Need Immediate Help With My Dilemma - Please HELP!?
I posted an ad on Craigslist about an hour ago (with lots of photos) to sell my bedroom set for $1000. I got a call right away from someone who wants to buy it, sight unseen, for $1000. Shortly afterward another person called to buy the set sight unseen and is begging me to sell it to her for $1100. I paid $4500 only 2 years ago, so these people are getting a bargain. They both are promising to be at my door first thing tomorrow with the cash and a moving truck. I'm moving and really need the money. Do I sell to person #1? Sell to person #2? Have them fight it out on my front lawn? Repost saying that I'm taking bids? HELP! I have to solve this dilemma immediately!
I decided to honor the original deal. I probably had 30 phone calls this morning from people who wanted to offer me more for the bedroom set. It was hard to turn these people down, but I do like to think of myself as being principled. The original deal went through.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my question!

You should honor the offer for $1000 since you accepted it first. If they don't show at the appointed time sell it to the $1100 offer. Next time research the prices so you have a good idea what things sell for.

If both people are willing to bid against each other then sell to the highest bidder. Tell caller #1 that you have a better offer and see what they say.

the same thing happened to us a few weeks ago we gave fair time for person one and let the others know if in a certain time frame he did not come or pay for it then it went to person number two and so on.

If #1 shows up with the $1,000 in cash, they was promised first. If not appear on time nor don't have it in cash, 2nd bidder at $1,100 - - but again it better be in cash. You don't know them nor what is in their account.
