Why do NASCAR fans get mad at Toyota winning races?
Tony Stewart won today... In a Toyota. This doesn't bother me.
I want to know why it bothers everyone else. Everyone wanted NASCAR to be popular, and now that it is, everyone wants to be a part of it. Now the same people who want a popular NASCAR, don't want Toyota to be in it?
I remember when Dodge came back into NASCAR and took the pole at Daytona, and no one was upset. Why is Dodge any different than Toyota? And surely it can't be just because the company isn't from America. I mean, that's silly, cause if the drivers are okay with it, why aren't the fans?
I'm just confused. I personally hope other companies, like Honda and BMW get in on it too. It'd be great to see the extra competition, and I really think itd be more fun for the fans if they'd go along with it.

Nascar fans are different than any other. From old to young they are probably the most dedicated throughout the wide age ranges. You have a lot of old school guys and gals that want to see Nascar stay "NATIONAL Association of Stock Car Auto Racing." With that being said, they don't want any part of non-American cars racing with our American cars. I think it is the Nascar fans who are in the south and old schoolers mainly who are really annoyed with the who situation.
I on the other hand am glad to see someone come into the sport and give the backing that is needed to be successful. I am one huge Gordon fan and Hendrick motor sports fan, and I know there are people who are annoyed with their success, but lets face it, do you think Ford or Dodge are going to catch up to them anytime soon? The same people who are upset about toyota deal are the same people who are upset with Hendrick!
Its like what do you want?!?
If other companies get involved it will only help competition. If you have Toyota, Honda, Chevy, Ford, Dodge... all of those companies can give more $$$ to the teams making the competition better all the way around... More teams spreading more cash makes for more chances for the smaller teams.
Bottom line... if people are going to be that shallow not to want to allow Toyota, then they dont have to watch, nascar is grown strong, and will keep going without them.

Toyota is made mostly in America but the profits from all their sales go back to Japan. The reason most race fans (in the know)don't like Toyota in the series is, They like Honda usual come in ,dump all the money it takes to dominate which ever series it is , then leave after it's all screwed up. Honda has dominated every series they have entered. Their next for NASCAR. Before Toyota and Honda entered Indy car racing there were Probably 6 or eight engine company's. Now 1 Honda

NASCAR...AMERICAN RACING....?
I think many of these answers is correct. As Bonni said, NASCAR was created by the good ol' boys during prohibitation time when running from the law in suped up cars running their shine.
Now with most good American jobs is being sent to other countries and finding anything anymore with "Made in the U.S.A." is almost impossible. The American public and race fans is not happy with the new change of a foreign automobile coming into our American sport.
This probley plays a role in why a small percentage dogs Montoya, because of so many illegal immigrants from Mexico coming here taking up so many American jobs.
Myself, I don't have no problem with LEGAL immigrants racing here in our sports. I am all for it especially if they are great drivers, it raises the bar for all NASCAR drivers. But on the same token, I dislike American jobs going over seas and like to talk to English speaking Americans when I call customer care who you can understand, but that seems to be a thing of the past too.
Toyota is here and showing strong runs this year. Fans will support their drivers no matter who they run for or what type of car they drive.
Just my two cents.

For those that say the money goes back over seas is partly true. Don't forget the workers @ the Toyota factories in the U.S. pay taxes to the U.S. government. The factories pay federal and local taxes. The electricity and water bills are paid to U.S. companies. So yes, the money does go back to Toyota HQ back in Japan, but there is plenty of money that stays right here in America.
What better way to try and step up and prove American companies can still build a good reliable automobile than to put their cars up against cars from across the world? I'd welcome BMW, Honda, etc.
Go Toyota!

Nascar was formed by the Good 'Ole Boys in the South who bootlegged during probation. Toyota being a foreign manufacturer is not accepted by the main fan base of Nascar.
Hope this helps.

The reason no one got upset at Dodge is...Dodge is an American made car! It is just because Toyota is not from America...that is the reason everyone is upset. This the great AMERICAN race today!

The answer is clear, the reason they don't like Toyota is because no one likes the kings of a sport to be overthrown and Chevrolet is about to be overthrown by Toyota and people can't handle it. No one likes change!!
Personally I agree with you, I say bring on Honda, Nissan, Kia, Mazda, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche the more the merrier that is just more manufacturers for Toyota to beat!!

The people who dont want Toyaota in it are the ones that dont like Toyota because they are a superior car. I have had a few and a few Hondas as well and cant say anything except they will go average 150k with no problems.

I think people believe that Toyotas are made overseas when in reality many of them are made in the U.S., meanwhile many of Ford's parts are made in Mexico, but no one complains about that. So I'm with you, I don't understand the double standard.
