Birthday toy for 2yr boy?

I have a son turning 2. He's very active and curious about everything. Typical boy likes trucks and cars and also like to throw and break things. I need something to last, please help?

    My nephew is turning 2 soon and is also very active in his play. Since warm weather is coming up with spring/summer how about some outdoor toys like a big play ball or two for outside?

    Other ideas for 2 year olds:

    * large size TONKA trucks

    * large foam building blocks or MEGA BLOCKS/DUPLO

    * there is a game called "Wack a Mole" that allows them to wack things to play the game in a controlled environment on the game itself.

    * how about some tub toys

    * there are toy golf sets for outside that are made for kids this age. He may like that because he can hit the ball around in the yard.

    * a ring toss game or kids bowling game? (just be certain you are ready to pick up the pins each time until he learns how!)

    * a cozy coupe car (Little Tykes makes them) that he can pedal around in outside. They are perfect for the 2 yo set. Battery power ride on cars are for older kids

    For Christmas, my dad got my 2 year old a dump truck from Walmart. It was $20, and is made from metal. It is TONKA. I was scared my son would get hurt on it, but it is his favorite toy now. It is big enough that he can sit in it and I can pull him around...lol...and he likes to push things around himself...definetly hangers...no idea way...lol

    If you have a yard i think a lawnmower is a really good idea! My son has one that is made by play school and it is fantastic, it even talks. My son loves it and i only paid $30 for it! His favourite present last Christmas!

    Blocks. maybe Mega blocks. something bigger than leggo.Choose plastic too. I'd stear clear of wood till he's older because he might chew on them. My 3 girls love playing and building things and then knocking them down.

    Hope that helps

    Get him a toy guitar, these make different kinds of sounds, are fun and can also teach a bit about music...very basics.
