Is this an urban myth?

Some guy at work was telling me that there was once some kind of adult website out there called redhotpussy dot com or something, but that it was all a clever scam and that when users entered their details to sign up all they got was redirected to a page where there was a picture of a cat sat in front of a fire and that they couldn't sue or anything because the site gave users what it promised! Is he winding me up? Has such a site ever existed or is it just an urban legend?

Update:

I suppose it is a good way of stealing peoples identity, yes. After all, how many people would report it to the police. It'd be seriously embarrassing to be taken in like that!

Update 2:

ROFL at michelangliron's answer! That link is cool! Same kind of wordplay deal as well!

the story of the ghostly hitch hiker has been advised to me as a "bona fide close by tale" everywhere in the States and Europe. I betcha they have the comparable tale with close by elaborations in the some distance East. a individual is utilising alongside a united states street in the direction of the night and that's, of direction, raining. He alternatives up a youthful hitchhiker (frequently a woman) and tries to make communique yet she would be able to not, she seems stressful and preoccupied. She tells him she *has* to be at a definite incredibly close by place, soonest. He drives into the small city she mentions, and turns to inform her they have arrived, and she or he's long gone. In some variations, on the previously to the main substantial street, he almost has an twist of destiny and sees her status on the shoulder of the line, looking at. He is going returned to the small city day after immediately and inquires, in basic terms to discover she became hit by potential of a automobile and killed on the spot the place he picked her up a number of years until now. some variations tell that she became desirous to get domicile to work out her mom until now she died, and so on. They even made a television action picture in step with this tale in France.

I never heard that specific story, or site.

But quite honestly, with all the crazyness on the internet, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.

Never ever ever sign up for anthing you aren't fully aware of. Too many creeps just want to steal people's info.
