Can a company put an arrest warrent out for someone out of state?

I was never notified of a court date over a broken lease. This was in indiana. I also do not have the means to get to indiana. Supposidly the company put a warrent out for me. I am not in indiana but i am 1500 miles away. I do not have the means to get there and i have a toddler to support. What can i do?

Update:

The company never sent me anything about a court date. I found out through a friend 3 days before. I do not understand how one can get a warrent for not showing in court, when never notified about it.

Companies cannot issue warrants, only judges can. As this is a civil case, failure to show up will result in a default judgement for whoever's suing you. They would then likely hire a collection agencey to try and collect whatever money the court awards.

So no, you cannot be arrested over this.
