I absolutely love Tapies,

4 thin canvas's

regarding time and place or text and image.

have u studied his work... really well...

4 time and place I would gather together some broken pieces of glass

little bits of polished wood

and some sand (golden)...

lots of very strong glue...

create a heavy emulsion and pva with white sand mixed in for texture and

make all backgrounds with this

all four backgrounds basically the same ...

and then write in heavy ...red and black numerals depicting time.... broken up with jagged edges... then on the three others seperately and the wood (1) glass (2) and make it look like a broken egg timer and the third one let th sand look as though it is falling from one edge to other depicting time slipping away.... then the numerical clock face with little bits of the other 3 to bring it together.......
